Eventually Captain Olivia Benson and Carisi's wife, Sergeant Detective Amanda Rollins, get worried that he isn't answering his phone, which they find is because he is being held hostage. Throughout the ordeal, Boyd becomes increasingly violent and sadistic, resulting in him taunting Carisi.
