~ Brady confronting Benson. |
Brady Harrison is the main antagonist of the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode "Perverted". He is a convicted serial rapist who tried to incriminate Detective Olivia Benson for murder after wrongly believing she set him up to be raped in prison.
He was portrayed by Patrick Heusinger.
Biography[]
Past[]
He committed a series of rapes, by slipping drugs into women's drinks and raping them. He earned the title The Rohypnol Rapist before he was finally arrested. During his interrogation by Detective Benson, he showed no remorse for his crimes and Benson remarked that a pretty boy like him would be popular in prison.
After his conviction, he was raped and terrorized by biker Clyde Vandyne who spread the news of the assault to other inmates. No reports were made because the guards didn't care. He falsely believed Benson set the attack up and sought revenge.
Perverted[]
After he and Clyde were released, he was mentally scarred from the trauma and stalked Clyde for weeks until he made a plan to get revenge. He then attacked Clyde by tasering him at a park, tying him up to a tree and castrating him before stabbing him to death. He then had friends get Benson's DNA and place it on Brady's knife.
Brady then put in an anonymous phone call to notify the police of Clyde's murder and described Benson's vehicle to make her look like a suspect. To make his story seem real, he tossed Benson's card on Clyde and left the knife behind. This led to Benson being accused by the feds and the Death Knights, a biker gang that Clyde ran with. Eventually, SVU discovered his role in the attack after looking into Clyde's history in prison and remembering Benson interrogated Brady. They went to his house, only to find it ransacked because of Death Knights also learning he was the culprit but he was not there.
Forced to go on the run, Brady decides to finish his plan and breaks into Benson's apartment, incapacitating the patrol officer stationed outside the building. After cornering her, he holds his taser on her and she questions why he framed her but he turned it around by asking why she sent Clyde after him. He reminds her of the interrogation and what she said. Brady also described his experience and wants her to confess to it, but Benson truthfully tells him that she did not know Clyde nor arrange the rapes though acknowledges she shouldn't have said it. She apologized for what he went through, while revealing it was pure coincidence. Despite being shocked at learning the truth, he rebuffs her apology while once again showing no remorse for his crimes of framing her and was about to commit suicide, since he is the only one who knows the truth. Benson impedes him and they struggle for the gun until Benson tasers Brady. Detective Stabler arrives as this happens to detain him, and Brady is taken away to answer for his crimes.
In the end, Benson's name is cleared while Brady is ultimately imprisoned of murder and conspiracy, being sentenced to life.
