I will never again have a home. I shall forever drift in the cosmos, raging against imperfection.

~ Brainiac
Brainiac is the secondary antagonist of Season 5 of the adult animated series Harley Quinn, and a minor character in its spin-off Kite-Man: Hell Yeah!.
He is a coluan artificial intelligence who is obsessed with obtaining true perfection. He travels the galaxy and shrinks cities to bottle size for preservation on his skull-shaped spaceship. Among these shrunken cities is Kandor, the capital of Superman's home planet Krypton.
Brainiac: Perfecting Metropolis has been one of the greatest challenges I have ever faced, and I welcomed it. But then you showed up! You are a variable that is beyond calculation. And as such, you must be eliminated. Harley: Ah, so that's your deal, huh? You lose your mind when stuff is unpredictable and just destroy things you don't understand?
„
~ Brainiac explaining his intent and Harley analyzing his motivations for doing so.
Brainiac, as an artificial intelligence, is amoral, callous, and has no regard for the lives of others, but is also extremely intelligent. Despite his origin as an AI, it is clear that Brainiac has his own moral agency and is capable of emotions, very little of which are positive. After losing his family, he became cruel, megalomaniacal, sadistic and highly manipulative.
History[]
Backstory[]
Brainiac came from a planet called Colu and, after a voyage in space, he returned to find everybody dead from unknown means. He then began traveling the cosmos with his white pet monkey named Koko, shrinking major cities and keeping them in glass jars.
Season 5[]

Powers and Abilities[]
Superhuman Intelligence: Brainiac's most notorious ability is his extremely advanced intellectual capabilities, being considered to one of the most intelligent beings in the entire universe itself. He uses this ability to outsmart his enemies.
Technopathy: His superhuman mind can even mentally interface with technological equipment, as well as control his entire ship with his thoughts alone.
Immortal: As an android, he does not age, and is many centuries old.
Mind Wipe: He is able to delete the memories (in full or in part) of other sapient beings, and can reverse the process, as he did so to Harley and Ivy in episode 4 of season 5), causing them to forget that they had encountered him.
Shrink Ray: His spacecraft is equipped with a device that he stole from another planet, which is capable of reducing entire cities and their inhabitants to miniature size. It can also be removed from the craft and used the way a rifle would.
His origin story in this series is similar that of his earliest appearances during the Golden Age, making him the sole survior of a world named Colu, obsessed with stealing cities in order to protect them from a similar fate. This version, however, explands that story by giving him a wife and son who perished in the cataclym that destroyed Colu, Harley acting as a painful reminder of his interactions with them.
