Brando Mondragon is a supporting antagonist in FPJ’s Batang Quiapo serving as a major antagonist in the third season of FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.
He is a corrupt contractor who are closely allied with the Guerrero crime family, involved in implementing false flood control projects as part of their schemes to gain money by embezzling the government taxes. He is also the ex-husband of Divina Mondragon and the father of Rockyboy Mondragon, who’s a rival of Miguelito Guerrero, despite of their close family associations.
He is played by Roi Vinzon who also played General Armando Soriano in My Husband’s Lover and William Romero in Black Rider.
Background[]
At some point he established a construction company known as Mondragon Construction and conspired with the Guerreros by implementing false flood control projects as part of their scheme to embezzle government funds in the Philippines. He was also married with Divina Mondragon and had a son named Rockyboy Mondragon. His marriage later fall apart due to his womanizing nature and raised Rockyboy as a single father.
During Miguelito’s victory party, he attended alongside with his son only that Rockyboy will cause a scene with Miguelito. He later reprimands Rockyboy for his impulsiveness and disrespect towards the Guerreros. Rockyboy reluctantly settles with Miguelito for the commotion he caused, and moments later he was seen expressing his sadness to Gustavo Guerrero as he wasn’t able to sit as congressman. Miguelito then discusses with another ghost project implementation, and demanded him to give Miguelito a greater share for their earnings.
He later reunites with his ex-wife Divina, after the latter seek refuge against from Tanggol and his friends. Upon reuniting with his ex-wife, he offers her protection and confessed that he genuinely cares about her despite of his past adulterous actions. Days later he introduces to Divina about his businesses involved in flood-control schemes throughout their area. Miguelito Guerrero calls him demanding Miguelito’s share and didn’t hesitate to offer. Divina had him tour to her personal business which is the reselling luxury cars and later on they meet up with a business partner in Mondragon Hotel. Unbeknownst to them Tanggol was stalking them until Divina was alarmed that the former infiltrated Mondragon Hotel sending his security to get rid of Tanggol.
Personality[]
Brando Mondragon is played as a corrupt contractor played to be a greedy and manipulative individual who only thinks of unlawfully stealing government taxes for personal gains. He is one of the loyal business partners of the Guerreros whom he highly respect. With Gustavo’s lost in the election, he was seen to be the only guest who recognized Gustavo expressing his sorrow for his electoral lost, while the other guests during the event ignored Gustavo for his lost. He was also against to Rockyboy’s impulsiveness especially to his grudge with Miguelito which annoys him seeing his behavior as a disgrace to the Guerreros.
Brando was said to be adulterous man that who has been into multiple affairs with different women, that caused his marriage to be broken. Despite of his broken marriage with Divina, he still genuinely cares about her and even offers her a protection against from Tanggol who is after her.

- His character is based on the controversial 2025 current issue in the Philippines about the corruption of DPWH (Department of Public Works and Highways) contractors involved in implementation of flood control ghost projects.
