Bratishka also known as Brother, is one of the main-characters-villains from the 1999 horror-gore-exploitation Russian film known as The Green Elephant.

He was portrayed by Vladimir Epifantsev.

Personality

Brother appears to be a relatively normal military-prisoner. During the film, he is just trying to resist from going insane, from his cell-made, which is mentally-insane. Brother most of the time seems to be brutal, and hard-going on his cell-mate. Brother's mental state during the film was getting worst, and worst from the fact being locked up, and from his cellmate. This made Brother much more aggressive to the point of beating the cellmate. His rage ends with him killing the Captain and committing suicide.

History

In the movie, two junior officers are being kept inside of a military-prison. One of the officers is Bratishka (Brother), while the second one is Poekhavshiy, or in English Nutcase. Both of the men are sharing the same room together, in which a dripping-sewer keeps dropping. Nutcase, seems to be talkative the whole time, during their-prison period. Nutcase kept talking about his past, sang the song Green Elephant, trained, and tried to to make Brother happy, which just upsets Brother even more, to the point of Brother beating up Nutcase, which escalates in Brother being forced to clean a toilet bowl with a fork, by a guard.

Later on, both Brother and Nutcase fall-asleep. Nutcase wakes up first, and takes the plate they share together, and starts releasing his feces into the plate, naming the dish his "Sweet-bread". After the feces release, Nutcase starts rubbing the feces allover his body, and eats it in enjoyment. Nutcase wakes up Bratishka and wants to share the feces with him, which enrages Brother, and forces Brother to yell out out and lose his mind, telling Nutcase to clean him-self with the dripping water, and threatens Nutcase that he will kill him. The same guard arrives, and forces Bratishka into cleaning the toilet again.

Because of the rapid screaming, The Captain himself of the institution, enters the cell, and lectures Nutcase about various operations, including Japanese and American ships, on Pearl Harbor. Nutcase doesn't answer anything right, which escalates in the Captain asking why is he in the army in the first place, and orders the guard to bring him tea, which he does. The Captain tastes the tea, and spills it on him, because the tea tasted like piss, and the guard beats up Nutcase.

Because of their misbehavior, both of the junior officers were forced into the basement, where they were forced to do as they say. Both of the junior officers were also forced inside of a hole-pit, making them stuck together, while singing the "Yablochko" song. The Captain then starts to taunt Brother for food, which escalates in the Captain wanting to force Brother into oral-sex. Brother denies, and tells Captain that Nutcase will do the oral-sex, and Nutcase does, forcefully.

Brother gets driven to insanity, from all of what happened, Brother ends up beating the Captain with a pipe, and bites his flesh off, while raping him. Brother rips off the Captains trachea, and forces it inside of Nutcases mouth, forcing him to sing "The Green Elephant" song again. Brother gets so upset, starting what has happened, Brother ends up committing suicide, from all the torture he has went though.

The movie it's self The Green Elephant, became a cultural meme on the internet, more precisely in Russia. On YouTube, videos of parodying the film, gathered over millions of views. Also, The Green Elephant was turned into a 2D video-game by user:4Fufelz, and it's playable though Steam.
