Brenda Shettrick is one of the major antagonists of The Mentalist TV-show. She is one of the corrupt officials in the CBI. She was played by Rebecca Wisocky.

Biography

We see Brenda very often when Teresa Lisbon gives her information on what to tell the press. Brenda seems like a very ordinary police officer. The first alarm bell rings when Todd Johnson is murdered and she ends up on LaRoche's list of suspects. Patrick develops a plan to figure out the real culprit. It turns out to be O'Laughlin. But Brenda is shown looking into the case files that Teresa Lisbon is handling. Later, Teresa begins to investigate the murders committed by Tommy Volker. But someone leaks information about the progress of the investigation to him. This someone turns out to be Brenda (but Lisbon does not know about it then). Although Brenda does not like what she is doing. Later, someone steals a plastic container from LaRoche, which contains something important and compromising LaRoche. One of the robbers is killed by the police. LaRoche asks Patrick to find the criminal (after all, the criminal blackmails him with the contents of this container). Laroche also explains that someone is leaking information about their investigations to the criminals. Lisbon and Cho wonder who might be behind these incidents, and Patrick suspects Brenda. He develops a plan in which he and his friends will allegedly go and arrest the criminal to whom Brenda is leaking information. Brenda is taken along. At the last moment, she manages to call the criminal. But her conversation is recorded. She is arrested.
