He was portrayed by Anthony DeSando.
Biography[]
Brendan Filone was a close friend and the partner-in-crime of Christopher Moltisanti, and he became an associate in Tony Soprano's crew of the DiMeo Crime Family. Filone and Moltisanti both used crystal meth, and he was known to always be high, and to frequently disobey orders from Christopher and higher ups. In 1998, Filone and Moltisanti hijacked a Comley Trucking truck and stole a number of DVD players. Uncle Junior, the protector of Comley Trucking, demanded restitution. Junior told Tony to keep Filone under control, but Filone told Moltisanti that they should do more work on their own, as they are unable to rise in the ranks of the Mafia.
Filone decided to carry out another heist against Comley Trucking with two African-American cohorts, with Moltisanti choosing to instead follow the rules and stay out of the heist. During the theft, Filone's cohort accidentally killed the driver when he dropped his gun and it fired and shot the driver in the stomach. Filone was distraught and knew he would face consequences over this, being betrayed by his cohorts who run away, prompting him to do so too.
Filone was forced to return the truck to Junior Soprano, but Soprano was not satisfied. Mikey Palmice entered Filone's house and confronted Filone, who was sitting in his bathtub. Palmice said, "Hijack, bye Jack," and he proceeded to shoot him clean through the eye with a silenced pistol, dubbed the “Moe Greene special”. Some time later, the murder of Brendan is mentioned on television, incorrectly stating that Filone's position was that of a soldier. This infuriates Christopher and makes him jealous, as this gives more recognition to Filone than what was warranted. Later on after Christopher is released from the hospital after his mock execution, Christopher and his girlfriend Adriana La Cerva head over to Brendan's apartment and Adrianna screams at the sight of Brendan's corpse in his bathtub attracting Christopher's attention who finds him dead much to his genuine sadness and distraught. This discovery makes Christopher even more unnerved as he thinks Tony is punishing him for giving his daughter Meadow speed.
Once Christopher finds out that Junior was the one who ordered Mikey to kill Brendan he wants retribution, however Tony refuses to allow Christopher to go through with his plans as Mikey is a made man and Christopher is not. Instead Tony beats up Mikey and personally confronts Junior about his actions against Christopher and Brendan.
Brendan's death would be avenged later by Christopher and Paulie Gualtieri, who would chase Mikey into a forest and plan to execute him there. Christopher confronts Mikey on how he killed Brendan, in the bathtub with no chance to run. Mikey reminds the two that Junior was the one who ordered Brendan's hit, but this falls on deaf ears, as the two men gun down Mikey with multiple gunshots.
