~ Banks rationalizing his sexual sadism |
Brent Allen Banks is the main antagonist of the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode "Uncle". Banks is a sexual sadist and the rapist and murderer of Gabriella and Ilaria Trevino.
He was portrayed by Timothy Adams.
Biography[]
Banks served 14 years in prison for the kidnapping, torture, and rape of a teenager named Maryelle Seaver. He held her captive in a cabin and raped her repeatedly, biting her during the assaults. Maryelle ultimately escaped, however, and reported Banks to the police.
Banks patiently waited for his next opportunity to attack after his release from prison, finding one in an ad put out by Gabriella about a bicycle she wanted to sell. Pretending to be a prospective buyer, Banks got her address and then tied her and her daughter Ilaria up in their bedroom. He raped them, bit them, and cut their wounds so his bite marks couldn't be used as evidence, Ilaria holding a crucifix the whole time and continued to hold it after she was dead. He then slowly suffocated them to death by putting plastic bags over their heads. Banks cleaned up the scene and left.
Detectives Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler of the NYPD's Special Victims Unit tracked him from sex offense records and arrested him. He was uncooperative during his interrogation and even took off his shirt to show he had no wounds from the Trevinos fighting him, gloating about his toned physique. Although the bite marks weren't a concrete match, the gum Banks left behind was a close enough match, so he was taken to trial.
Detective John Munch's mentally ill uncle Andrew eavesdropped on the investigation and trial, to the point he had an outburst in the courtroom, causing a mistrial. Eventually, when it seemed like Banks was out to kill another woman, Andrew shoved Banks under a subway and killed him.
Trivia[]
- Banks's murders of the Trevinos are inspired by the murders of Maria Rivera and Mariah Navarro in New York City.
