Brian Moser, also known as the Tamiami Slasher, is a major character in Jeff Lindsay'sDexter novel and comic series.
He is a serial killer known as "The Tamiami Slasher." In the first book of the series, Darkly Dreaming Dexter, Brian tells Dexter (who does not remember his childhood) about the trauma that made them into killers. Dexter prevents Brian from killing Deborah, but Dexter allows him to escape. In later books, he reluctantly allows Brian to help "mentor" his stepchildren Astor and Cody as budding murderers. In Dexter is Dead, the last book in the series, Brian is killed by mobsters who have kidnapped Astor and Cody. Brian acts as the first main antagonist of the novel series.
Brian Moser is a complex character with a chilling personality. He's portrayed as Dexter's biological brother, sharing a dark and twisted past. Brian is highly intelligent, manipulative, and ruthless, embodying a cold, calculating killer who operates without remorse. His personality contrasts with Dexter’s more controlled and methodical nature. While he saves many of Dexter’s loved ones, he ultimately only does it for Dexter. However, as the last book advances, we see him bonding with Dexter’s children. After his children are gone, Brian immediately helps Dexter save his children and also take down the drug lord he uses to work for.
