“Brittle Bones” Nicky is the titular main protagonist of the Rare American song Brittle Bones Nicky. A troubled young man with a difficulty background who attempts to live his best life despite the odds against him. After his death, he attempts to get into Heaven despite the actions he committed.
He is voiced by James Priestner.
Personality[]
In his childhood Nicky was described as being shy up until he met Shifty who he claims “had a hundred pounds on me”. Nicky would live to grow up to be a no nonsense and highly intelligent person, refusing to get pushed around by anyone and shows to be fearless towards enemies. He shows to be cunning, crafty and managing to get away from problems once things get bad. He shows to deeply care for people, attacking a cop who sadistically hurt the woman he was with and was willing to risk his own life to save his 20 year friend Ben without any hesitation nor regret.
Appearance[]
Nicky is a scrawny pale skinned man with black hair and a black eye dressed in a white t-shirt and black pants and shoes. After making the deal with God/The Devil he transformed into a flaming skeleton dressed in a formal red suit and fedora.
Biography[]
Brittle Bones Nicky[]
Nicky was born to his loving mother and his abusive father who often abused both him and his mother. His parents were later killed by a man who his dad scammed and Nicky traveled through several foster homes, one with a woman named Mary who gifted him hand me down clothes. Eventually he ended up at a house of a guy named Shifty, who nicknamed him “Brittle Bones Nicky” and who frequently bullied him. One day Nicky buys a pie and after Shifty knocks over his glass of milk, he slams the pie in his face, not caring when Shifty tries to attack but slips and slams his throat on the table.
In his teens Nicky rode around the block on his bike looking for young hot girls to drink beers with eventually dropping out of school. At 21 he build a gang that he uses to steal and deal drugs, stealing a man’s drugs and using it with a woman. The cops come in and arrests Nicky who holds his own when they hurt the lady he’s with and he’s thrown in jail. While in jail he befriends an older inmate named Ben spending 20 years as friends. One night, he hears Ben getting attacked by three large men being pants down and shanked.
Nicky snaps and attacks the three men potentially killing them, saving Ben’s life and single handily taking down all three men. After another few decades, Nicky now an old man is released from prison and spends the last few years of his life just walking around the park and thinking back to his past, not regretting his past and fondly remembering it as he peacefully dies.

This song takes place when Nicky Is seen in prison at age 20 after Shifty died Nicky then, after he's released from prison, works at a hotel where he cleans the rooms, then he notices a girl named Karla who he is quite fond of, he found her at the Chaplin Ball. She invites Nicky to watch her at the circus she comes from, then he says that no ones ever looked out for him[1] then he figures that he should sneak onto the circus truck that leads him to the circus. After falling asleep, he wakes up and hops out the truck to the circus where he states: "I jumped in the back of a truck I thought, 'Oh man, holy fuck!' The circus was tailor-made for me Oddballs, misfits, living free". After that, Nicky recalls star gazing with Karla in which she says a memory[2]

Brittle Bones Nicky 2[]
After his death Nicky appeared on a roller coaster in the afterlife controlled by a demon like creature named Hank who tells him that they were on the way to the gate. When Nicky wished to know where he was going Hank responded that he wasn’t sure and that “HE” decides his fate. As they travel across the afterlife Nicky saw flashes of his life including his mother who he hoped to hug in heaven and after arriving at the gates Hank wished him good luck.
after arriving in what is most likely purgatory he saw two pits one going to heaven and one going to hell. When attempting to enter heaven he was stopped by god saying that he was not allowed in heaven due to his many crimes as his mother looked on. Nicky claimed it wasn’t fair as god was the one who gave him a terrible start to his life but he didn’t listen as Nicky was cast down to hell.
Once in hell he sees people trapped in cages and in one of the cages he sees his old friend Ben calling out for him. To thank Nicky for saving his life he tells him that there’s a way out of hell by making a deal with the devil let him out of hell to become his ghostly pawn and commit despicable crimes for him. Nicky then attack's a guard for his key’s before being knocked down but immediately gets back up refusing to give up until a hole opens up beneath him and he falls in.
He returns to purgatory where he comes face to face with the devil himself whose voice Nicky recognizes from before. The devil turns around revealing that he and god are actually the same person as he asks why he has returned to him. Nicky explains that he wants to make a deal to let him become a ghost until his debt is paid and he can go to heaven to watch over his mother. God agrees and turns Nicky into a skeleton in a red suit before sending him back to the living world to fulfill gods duties.
