The Brotherhood of Chaos are the main antagonists of Mortal Kombat 1's DLC, Khaos Reigns. Led by Titan Havik, they are an army who made up of alternate counterparts of the game's roster who worship chaos, and spread Havik's anarchistic ideology throughout the realms, forcing it upon their inhabitants.

History[]

The Brotherhood of Chaos was founded by Titan Havik, and is made up of individuals both native to his own timeline and those he has since absorbed into his own, whose motives revolve around towards spreading anarchy and chaos. His right hand men are father and son Kenshi and Takeda Takahashi, while the rest of the act as minions. As entertainment, the Brotherhood take part in multiversal bloodsports, pitting variants against one another.

Khaos Reigns[]

The Brotherhood of Chaos first appear when they launch an attack on Outworld's palace to capture Geras, as he contained the time crystals necessary for Havik to enact his plan. Havik was joined by the Khaotic versions of the Takahashi's, Geras, Shang Tsung and Quan Chi, Raiden, and Nitara. While the Brotherhood intended to kill all present while taking Geras, Earthrealm's and Outworld's warriors managed to fend them off, with Sektor and Khameleon managing to take out the Khaotic Deadly Alliance. In the end however, they were successful with their main objective, with Kenshi and Takeda managing to drag Geras into their timeline, and the Brotherhood elected to return as well.

Trivia[]

Several of the skin designs used for the Brotherhood were previously used in Mortal Kombat 1's Invasions Season 4: The Huntress. While it was themed around Mileena, in the game files it is referred to as "Season of Chaos", implying that it was originally themed around Havik before being changed in preparation for Khaos Reigns.
Many of the members of the Brotherhood of Chaos resemble their earlier counterparts:
- Shang Tsung and Quan Chi are partnered together.
- Kenshi and Takeda are father and son, rather than cousins like their New Era counterparts. As well as this, Kenshi is a telepath.
- Shao and Sindel are married, much like their second timeline counterparts.
- Ashrah and Nitara are paired together, referencing their shared history.
