Bruce Allan Cooper is an antagonist and survivor from Image Comics’ The Walking Dead. He was a right-hand enforcer and bodyguard for the The Governor, living in the small community of Woodbury. Bruce was a reliable asset to the Governor’s evil schemes, as he followed the man’s orders without question.
Appearance[]
Bruce was a middle aged African American man of an imposing height and had a very strong build, weighing approximately 113 kg (250 pounds). He had notably large muscles, making his physique look brutish and imposing. He had a bald head, and his face contained many tense features. Bruce had a few sizable wrinkles across his forehead, mouth, and chin. His nose was rather large, and he had protruding cheekbones. He had a small goatee of black hair, with his eyes also having a black color.
Bruce wore a green army jacket with a black shirt under it. He also wore black boots, black lifting gloves, and grey cargo pants supported by a black belt.
Personality[]
Bruce was shown to be an extremely devoted and stern follower of the Governor. Fully willing to assist his leader in the worst of his evils, such as the killing of innocents and allowing Michonne to be raped. Bruce generally had a wrathful demeanor about him, tending to use his anger as a way to boss others around, even to his closest allies, but never towards the Governor.
Story[]
Pre-apocalypse[]
Long before the apocalypse happened, Bruce used to help out at a gas station that was implied to be owned by his father. He also had a girlfriend named Shauna, whom he would had sex with in his old 427 Camaro. Something that Bruce would remember happily, yet also in a melancholy type of way after the apocalypse happened. It is likely that Bruce lived near Woodbury in rural Georgia before the outbreak.
Post-apocalypse[]
It is unknown what happened to Bruce's father and girlfriend shortly after the outbreak occurred, but it's implied that they both died at some point. Nonetheless, Bruce made his way to the town of Woodbury where he met numerous other survivors.
Rise of the Governor[]
Bruce was first seen constructing parts of the barricade surrounding Woodbury with Gabriel Harris. Bruce and Gabe notice Brian Blake and his group approaching them. Bruce holds his shotgun on the newcomers and asks Philip Blake if he carries any weapons, which he carefully shows to Bruce. It is quickly made clear by Bruce that he and Gabe don't really care what Brian and his group want to do in Woodbury, as there is no proper leadership and communication in the town whatsoever. Bruce even laughingly calling it the, "wild fucking west". Therefore, Brian, Philip, and Nick, are all let in.
