Bryan Fury is the secondary antagonist of the 2010 live-action film Tekken and a supporting protagonist in the 2014 film prequel Tekken: Kazuya's Revenge. He is a power-boxer and Kenpo fighter who win last years King of the Iron Fist Tournament and is described to have cybernetic upgrades.
He was portrayed by Gary Daniels, who also played Lawrence Sparks in The Expendables.
Biography[]
Tekken[]
Prior to the movie, after governments and most of civilization were destroyed, eight corporations took power and divided up around the world. The biggest of them of all was the Tekken Corporation, which they control North America. Once a year, Heihachi Mishima, the chairman of the corporation, sponsors a competition the King of the Iron Fist tournament located in Tekken City, in which each fighters from the eight corporations battle until one is left standing and earns themselves a lifetime of stardom and wealth.
At some point before the events of the film, Bryan entered the King of Iron Fist Tournament and won, becoming the current champion.
Bryan is first seen training with the other participants. When Jin and Steve Fox arrives at the training room, Bryan and Raven sees them and thinks the former as nothing but a amateur. Later, during the fight between Jin and Miguel Rojo, Bryan underestimate the latter and makes fun of him and Christine, who then reveals to have known about Bryan's cybernetic enhancements, angering the aggressive fighter.
After Nina and Anna Williams' failed attempt to kill Jin, Kazuya goes to meet Bryan and offers him a thousand global dollars to kill Jin, which Bryan declines his offer. But then, Kazuya starts to blackmail him by mentioning his bio-enhancements, which are illegal in the tournament and can get him banned for life.
After Kazuya betrays his father Heihachi and takes over Tekken, he changes the rules of the tournament to force the participants to kill each other to win and in order to have Bryan to kill Jin. Bryan is up against Sergei Dragunov. Despite putting up a fight, Bryan strangles and kills Dragunov by using a spiked chain to slit the latter's throat. Later, he fights Jin and has the upper hand for most of the battle. Jin has flashbacks of his mother's teachings and exploiting Bryan's weak spots. Jin defeats Bryan flying down and knee drops him in the face, killing him in the process.
Tekken: Kazuya's Revenge[]
When the Minister sends Kazuya on a mission to eliminate a target named Bryan Fury. Kazuya faces Bryan in an alleyway while Rhona Anders is on an rooftop with a sniper rifle. During the fight, Bryan warns Kazuya to leave the organization and helps him to find out his identity. The next day, Kazuya is awakened by Bryan's voice from a camera, who hacked the camera to tell him to beware of the Minister and stay away from him. Kazuya meets up with Rhona, who explains to him that she is forced to negotiate with the Minister. Bryan joins them and gives them a document that revealed that both of them are just pawns to the Minister and disappears.
Appearance[]
Much like his mainstream counterpart, he is a tall muscular man presumably around his thirties or forties. He has short gray hair, a goatee, and blue eyes. He wears green pants and has several gatling gun bullets warp around his waste that make a cross belt, black boots, and a red tie on his left arm. He also has scars on his chest and left cheek.
Personality[]
Bryan is a aggressive and ruthless fighter, being rude and showing no mercy towards other participants. He is somewhat rather sadistic and thrill seeking as he taunts and beats Jin during their fight, making the most vilest competitor in the tournament. He is even willing to kill the other fighters just so he can keep his identity as a cyborg a secret and continue to enter the King of Iron Fist Tournament.
