Bucket Shadow is a bucket-themed Shadow Monster at the service of the Evil Army Shadow Line and under the command of Baron Nero, that appears as the primary antagonist in episode 5 of Ressha Sentai ToQger. He was sent by his master Baron Nero to attack Tokyo and gather the darkness from the humans by eating their food. Like all other Shadow monsters this plan led to his encounter with ToQgers.
He is voiced by Daiki Nakamura who previously voiced Zylpheeza from 1999 TV series called Kyukyu Sentai GoGoFive.
History[]
This gluttonous Shadow Kaijin armed with the Top Lid Big Mouth (上ぶた系ビッグマウス Uebuta-kei Biggu Mausu) was sent by Baron Nero to collect darkness, by eating every scrap of food from Omari Station, which he had taken over into Harapeko Station. Doing so, he had made a considerable amount of darkness, enough to sever the Rainbow Line tracks and make the ToQgers break out the Car Carrier Ressha.
During Bucket Shadow's takeover, a few residents retreated to the mountains, though didn't bring enough supplies with them.
While rounding up some food that the residents had tried to hoard from the glutton, he did battle with the four ToQgers, with Right having been separated from the group when his car from the Car Carrier Ressha flew into the mountains thanks to him overdoing it with Imagination. However, when Bucket Shadow demanded food from the ToQgers, he was dismayed when they had none, so he sent them flying and he fled by power-leaping onto roof-tops.
After devouring the last stash of milk from a household with an infant (and eating the glass bottle it was in), he then smelled cooked fish in the mountains, where the ToQgers happened to be, lead by a vengeful Right who heard about what Bucket Shadow has done to the town.
To satisfy his gluttony, he attacked ToQ 1Gou, who had a stick with one of the cooked fish on him, but deftly avoided the Shadow Kaijin and bounded him to a tree with some rails from the Rail Slasher, and began taunting Bucket Shadow with the food on a stick until he ate it all to show Bucket Shadow how all his victims had felt. Unrepentant, he finally broke free from his bindings and tried to attack Right, only to be judo thrown away.
ToQ 1Gou then Norikae Changes with Green and Yellow, sticking the Tunnel Axe into Bucket Shadow's mouth and pummeled the Kaijin with the Shingo Hammer. Once wounded enough, the ToQgers formed the Renketsu Bazooka and destroyed Bucket Shadow with the Rainbow Rush, it turning into a gigantic fish that devoured him.
Bucket Shadow then was enlarged, and did battle with ToQ-Oh, who immediately combined with the Car Carrier Ressha, forming ToQ-Oh Car Carrier. The Ressha Combination then whaled hits on the Shadow Kaijin, and when the Kaijin tried to eat the Car Carrier part, ToQ-Oh simply punched him hard in the mouth, then ended Bucket Shadow with the Car Carrier Dash.
Bucket Shadow was among the Shadow Monsters that were brought back as ghosts by Tombstone Shadow, they were weaker than when they were living and unable to grow when defeated. He was destroyed again by ToQ 1gou's Rail Slasher.
Personality[]
Bucket Shadow was a gluttonous, destructive and egotistical Shadow monster who will stop at nothing to destroy the ToQgers and consume the food from the citizens of Tokyo in order to gather the darkness Baron Nero needed for achieving Shadow Line's plan to conquer the Earth and plunge the planet into the eternal darkness. Bucket Shadow was a cunning, arrogant, hot-tempered and prideful and was shown to be delighted in causing chaos and havoc in Tokyo by consuming everything at his path. He was also proved to be ruthless, egotistical and somewhat sadistic, for example when he consumed the food of the Japanese family and left the parents and their two children to starve. However, just like practically all other monsters in Sentai series, Bucket Shadow's primary weakness was his arrogance and confidence in his victory and despite his cunningness and recoursefullness, he was eventually outsmarted and overwhelmed by the Rangers, stopping his evil plan. However, he was also highly loyal to his masters Baron Nero and is very polite and faithful to his superior, and also enjoys to be praised and congratulated for his services for his mission.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Superhuman Strength: Bucket Shadow is a highly strong, being able to hold his own against the entire ToQgers team for some time, albeit he was eventually beaten and overwhelmed by the multi-colored heroes.
- Superhuman Durability: He is also highly durable and is able to withstand multiple hits and strikes from ToQgers, but he was, however, destroyed when the Rangers used their more powerful weapons like Renketsu Bazooka.
- Superhuman Stamina: He also possesses far greater stamina than mortal humans and can hold his own against the ToQgers team for multiple hours.
- Skilled Combatant: Bucket Shadow is a highly capable combatant, being able to fight the ToQgers and survive the few battles with them, until the Rangers outsmarted him.
- Power-Leaping: He is able to leap high.

Weaknesses[]
- Food Limit: Bucket Shadow's main weakness is his eating limit. He is unable to eat far too much and is heavily weakened when he consumes too much food. This weakness was eventually used by the Rangers.
