Watch carefully, bigmouth! We're doing it. Now come on, boys. We're going to enter our frog in the contest.
~ Buckshot leaving Hoppity tied to a chair in a shack before Buckshot enters a frog into the contest.

Buckshot Brown is the main antagonist of the 10th Hoppity Hooper episode, "Jumping Frog Contest". He was voiced by the late Paul Frees, along with a few other Hoppity Hooper villains.

Biography[]

He was first seen with his henchman Shorty to watch Waldo's caravan to make sure his gamblers would bring out the sign to mislead Hoppity, Waldo, and Fillmore to make them think the camp was at a dead end. Then, he and his gamblers were waving with their fists angrily as the caravan was headed for the cliff were many other competitors died.

In the second part of "Jumping Frog Contest", Buckshot and his gamblers laughed as they saw the caravan head for the cliff. He then took many pictures of Hoppity Hooper and posted them on the wall in a shack to make a disguise suit for his henchman Shorty. When Shorty said he didn't want to be a frog, Buckshot whipped out his gun to make Shorty change his mind. In the night when Hoppity was practicing for the jumping frog contest, Buckshot used his net to capture the frog and carried him to a shack.

In the third part of "Jumping Frog Contest", Buckshot successfully tied Hoppity to a chair in a small shack in town and left him there as he left with two of the gamblers. Then, he came to the judge's tent to enter a kangaroo instead of a frog in the contest and pointed two guns to make the judge believe that the kangaroo was a frog. When the third part of the episode ended, the narrator concluded the episode by mentioning Hennery to be a kangaroo. Buckshot points his guns at the narrator then grins evilly when the narrator mentions frog instead of kangaroo.

In the last part of the episode, Buckshot mentioned to the judge that there was one contestant left who was Hennery after the judge discovered that Shorty wasn't Hoppity. After Hennery made his jump, Buckshot asked the judge for the prize money. Hoppity was still in the contest, and he told the judge that he demands the frog to make the jump. Buckshot was shocked and upset that Hennery failed to win the contest. Hennery wanted Buckshot to give him the money, but couldn't because Buckshot was dependent on the prize money. Buckshot eventually faced his defeat when he was Hennery's punching bag in a boxing room.

Personality[]

Buckshot is a devious individual who liked to gamble and disguise Shorty as a frog in the contest. He also proved himself to be heartless after he kidnapped Hoppity and sadistically left him the shack tied to a chair, and pointing out his guns at Shorty and the judge during the contest.
