Buddy is a minor character in the crime drama series Better Call Saul. He is a friend of Jeff, with whom he becomes partners in crime alongside Saul Goodman (as Gene Takavic).
He was portrayed by Max Bickelhaup.
History[]
Buddy was a resident of Omaha, Nebraska. He also had a father who died from pancreatic cancer.
Buddy is first seen accompanying Jeff at the mall, where they approach Gene Takavic, whom Buddy silently stares at in an intimidating posture, and pressure him into revealing his identity as Saul Goodman.
Buddy participates in the heist of the mall's luxury clothing store, disguising as a delivery truck driver named Ricky and smuggling a large wooden crate apparently containing a sprayer pump (in actuality Jeff is hiding inside) into the mall. The next morning, Buddy returns and picks up the crate, which now stores the loot that Jeff had stolen. They celebrate the success of the theft before being blackmailed into silence by Gene, who threatens to report the robbery if they betray him.
He later joins Gene in another one of his schemes, in which Gene and Jeff would drug people before allowing Buddy, who walks his dog Zeke to avoid suspicion, to sneak inside the victim's house and take photos of their personal documents, which they later sell. Buddy refuses to follow through when they discover that their latest target has cancer, explaining how he lost his father. He unsuccessfully asks Jeff to support him when Gene objects to his misgivings. Gene then dismisses Buddy, ordering him to keep quiet about their activities, and decides to rob the man himself instead.
