Bugsy Kidnap, simply known as Bugsy, is the secondary antagonist of the Tintin comic book Tintin in America.

He is the owner of Kidnap Inc., which is operated in an old abandoned castle. He was first seen when Tintin's dog, Snowy, was kidnapped by his accomplices.

Appearance[]

Bugsy is a bald man with round glasses, wearing a black coat with a purple shirt under it.

Biography[]

Tintin in America[]

He is first seen when one of his men captured Snowy and brought him inside Kidnap Inc., inside an old abandoned castle. However, Tintin followed the accomplice to the base and hid in a suit of armor, waiting for Bugsy and his accomplices. One by one, they get knocked out by Tintin with a sword. Tintin then took his keys and went on his way to free Snowy, while being chased by Bugsy's men, who then fell down a hole to some water below due to Tintin switching the signs, defeating them. Bugsy, who escaped via a trap door, then contacts Maurice Oyle, a businessman running a meat producing factory called Gryndre, who attempts to murder Tintin by making him fall down into the machine itself.

However, the workers were put out of work, which saved Tintin from being turned into beef. Bugsy then berates Maurice for his failure and brutally bashed him. Later in the story, Tintin disguised himself as a butler as Bugsy goes inside his hotel room. Once he arrived there, Tintin holds him at gun point, but Bugsy takes out his cane, which is revealed to be a sword, and fights Tintin, only to be defeated by a huge lamp falling on him, which accidentally throws the sword on Snowy's tail. He and Maurice are then tied up and brought to the police, where they are arrested for their crimes.

Trivia[]

  • In the original version of the book before it was redrawn in 1945, Bugsy had no round glasses.
