Bull Tong is the main antagonist of the 1996 Hong Kong film The God of Cookery.

Bull Tong is portrayed by Vincent Kok.

Personality[]

At first, Tong seems to be a huge fan of Steven Chow, as he is even willing to take a dump in front of him. However, in reality, Tong is a power-hungry chef that would stop at nothing at getting the nickname of "God of Cookery'" as he betrayed Chow and exposed the fact the Chow can't cook on the opening ceremony of Chow's 50 restaurant. He is also a boss that is as bad-tempered as if not more than Chow, as he beat up one of his employee. Tong is also cold-hearted, as he is willing to send assassin to kill Chow.

Biography[]

Bull Tong first appeared when he begged Steven Chow to let him be the latter's employee. In order to insult Tong, Chow told him that he would let him work for him if he took a dump in a elevator, which Tong instantly attempted to do, thus Chow let Tong to work for him. During his employment, Chow had constantly insulted Tong. However, during the opening ceremony of Chow's fiftieth restaurant, Tong exposed and overthrow Chow, thus taking over Chow's business. He then told his employees to use low-quality food for the restaurant in order to have a low cost. He also beat up one of his employee for refusing to use low-quality food. Soon, Tong heard that Chow was becoming famous again with the success of 'Pissing beef ball'. When he knew Chow is trying to buy some bunks, Tong believed that Chow is trying to open chain stalls, so he brides the banker to sell rural bunks to Chow, however it is revealed that Chow was trying to sell the beef balls in can instead, much to Tong's frustration. 

Later, when Tong met Chow, he convinced the latter to go to culinary school. However, Tong arranged an assassin to kill Chow, luckily, Chow's idoliser Turkey took the bullet for Chow, who escaped.

Than, Tong joined the culinary competition. He was shocked by Chow's return. Most of the competitors but the duo were eliminated. So the competition between them started. Throughout the competition, Tong tried to murder Chow but failed. In the end, the judge admitted that Chow's dish is better, however, since Tong blackmailed her, the judge let Tong wins. At this moment, the Imperial Court of Heaven appears as they were moved by Chow, who was originally a heavenly assistant of the Kitchen God. After turning Chow's business partner into a bulldog as his punishment for his treachery, the gods blasted through Tong's chest, leaving a hole on him, symbolizing his heartlessness. However, it is unknown if Tong is killed or not.
