“ | Dear God, it's me...Bullseye. We never spoke much before, so maybe it's a little awkward for me to be calling you up now, but this seems to me like a special occasion. Today is the greatest day of my life. Or at least, it will be soon. If you played any part in things unfolding the way they have, God, well I do most sincerely thank you. And I only ask one little favor...this awful bloodshed that's about to happen here...this horrible reckoning of brutality and vengeance and the most depraved sort of violent shenanigans imaginable...please just make it last. Amen. | „ |

Shelton Pendergrass, also known as Bullseye, is the secondary antagonist in the first half of Steve Dillon's PunisherMAX. A dangerously insane and bloodthirsty individual, Bullseye is an expert mercenary who never misses his target. He also claims to be clairvoyant.
Biography[]
Shelton Pendergrass is implied to have had an abusive father, who he claims helped bring him to where he is now. He got a target sign tattooed onto his forehead 12 years before his debut, and at some point became a military lawyer but never saw any actual combat. He then nicknamed himself "Bullseye" and became a worldwide hitman who never once failed to kill a single target; Texas oil barons, Sultans, Catholic priests, and sometimes dictators. Once in Italy, a grade school class on a field trip witnessed Bullseye dealing with the fallout of a gangland slaying; in retaliation, Bullseye gassed the entire school and then rigged all the children's coffins to explode at the funeral, thus blowing the whole town to hell.
In the present, Bullseye is hired by the Kingpin to kill the Punisher. In this endeavor, Bullseye goes to everywhere in New York the Punisher's been in hopes of studying him. He also goes to a family's house at nighttime, kills the husband, rapes the wife, and takes the wife and her two children to get gunned down by his men in order to recreate Frank Castle's family's death at Central Park the next morning; this process is then repeated with three more families throughout the week. Through his insanity, Bullseye does some more research on the Punisher, even discovering his last words to his family were "I want a divorce." In his last fight with the Punisher, Bullseye cruelly whispers these words before succumbing to his injuries and falling into a comatose state. Some days later, the Punisher goes to Bullseye's hospital room and shoots him in the head, killing him as he smiles in his sleep.
