Burn Dinorex also known as Mattrex in the original English localization, is one of the 8 Maverick bosses from Mega Man X5.
Biography[]
Burn Dinorex was a member of Repliforce's disaster prevention team, having been stationed at a volcanic mountain. Without Repliforce's consent he created an illegal weapons warehouse there where he stored various weapons made with magma energy. Because of this, he was one of few Repliforce's members who survived the Repliforce War.
The Maverick Hunters eventually learned Burn Dinorex stored a Booster Engine, which was necessary to power up the Space Shuttle they would use to destroy the Eurasia space colony, so X and Zero are sent there to retrieve it. However, Burn Dinorex immediately assumed the hunters were sent there to retire him and attacked, which ultimately results on his defeat.
Burn Dinorex's fight is a tough one, due to his size and the small room to maneuver. He will jump around and spit fireballs, every now and then jumping into a wall to do a dashing attack. After he reaches half health, he will cover the floor in fire and dash to the other side, causing massive flames to erupt. His weakness is the Wing Spiral.

- In the initial localization of Mega Man X5, Mattrex was named after the former Guns N' Roses drummer, Matt Sorum.
- Dinorex's weakness to Wing Spiral is due to the fact that although air is one of three things that fuels a fire, a strong enough blast of it can extinguish it completely.
