Stop hand

Bushwacker is a supporting antagonist of the 2005 third-person video game The Punisher. He is a gun-slinging cyborg who has the ability to morph his arms into various weapons.

He was voiced by Phil Hayes, who also played Eddie Gnucci and most of the Gnucci & Russian goons in the same game.

Personality[]

Bushwacker is a gun slinging goon for hire, he is shown to be very dangerous to both the Punisher and untrustworthy to the Gnuccis, often seeing the Gnucci is cannon foder, and expendable, for instance, if you were interrogate one of the Gnuccis's at a electric eel pond, and spare them to trade for Joan, Bushwacker holds no regards to the latter even telling Frank to kill him anyways and for the goon to "die like a man." Also during the library gun fight in the Gnucci Estate, he is shown to often incinerate part of the library, with the Gnuccis there too, and even using the Gnuccis's as shields. He is also mentioned to be a zoophobic, despising animals regardless of the species, and possibly enjoyed killing them. A perverse side of Bushwacker is also alluded to when he used Joan as a shield exclaiming to Frank that Joan is "starting warm up on him".

Apperance[]

Bushwacker is build of a tall middle aged man with a blue sleeveless vest, underneath is a grey sweatshirt and jeans. His most notable premise is his right arm cannon, able to store magazines and launch missiles and grenade launchers that blast through concrete.

History[]

Bushwacker was a retired CIA agent, who volunteered in getting his right arm amputated into a cybernetic cannon.

He became a bounty hunter, and possibly butted heads with Frank Castle several times in the past.

He also knew of John Saint, who had died in the Punisher film, but survived sending Bushwacker a message to Punisher that John is looking for him.

Working for the Gnuccis[]

Ma Gnucci's youngest son, Bobby Gnucci died in a horrific shootout in Lucky's bar. In retaliation, she hired Bushwacker, and the latter kidnapped Punisher's neighbor: Joan as bait, luring him to the central zoo.

Bushwacker, also ordered the Gnuccis to kill countless guards, workers even animals, as according to one of the goons if interrogated he actually hates all kinds of animals.

Punisher kills hordes of Gnucci mooks, due to Bushwacker leading him right to his trail, he then traps Joan into a containment box, and attempts to let piranhas devour her. Punisher tries to fight Bushwacker who tries to escape, he destroys a large portion of the ceiling to cover his escape even claiming to Punisher that he would leave "another woman" to die. Punisher frees Joan, who asks if the Gnuccis and Bushwacker are dead? The Punisher replies: He'll be dead soon.

Rematch with the Punisher[]

Punisher having dismantled more of the Gnucci's drug operations, killed Eddie Gnucci, now takes the fight to Ma Gnucci's home estate, where she has Bushwacker on guard, Punisher and Bushwacker meet up again, where Bushwacker fires on the ground and sends Frank falling into a basement. Franks is forced to fight his way to the top of the mansion, where he encounters Bushwacker in Ma's library, where Bushwacker swears his guts will be splatter all over the library. A climatic firefight ensues where Bushwacker and Punisher fight all over the library. Bushwacker unleashes bombardments of cluster bombs and setting the library ablaze in the process. During the fight, Bushwacker asks if he's seen John Saint who's been looking for him, but Punisher isn't aware is still alive. During the fight the Punisher shoots his glasses, distracting him, and allowing Punisher to defeat him. Punisher still thinks his job is far from over yet. Admitting the amount gears and hardware within Bushwacker could render him return stronger, the Gnuccis could possibly repair him, and so needs make a wound to hard not they patch up. Ripping his Cybernetic arm with ease, and using to blast Bushwacker out of the mansion.

Punisher then chucks his arm next to him, mentioning to himself that he doesn't smile at all, but if he could, the defeat of Bushwacker would be his greatest moment.

Bushwacker's fate is somewhat left ambiguous, as he is not mentioned or heard of again for the rest of the game, but given the fact the he lost a large amount of blood when he recovered after Punisher pulled his cybernetic arm off, and shot him, along with the mansion burning, and the Gnuccis all dead, it is assumed, Bushwacker died from his injuries, and possibly the Punisher finishing him off after leaving the burning.

Trivia[]

  • Bushwacker's character ascetics and design resembles Duke Nukem and T-800 from the Terminator Franchise.
  • Bushwacker's cybernetic arm can be seen with a magazine on the forearm.
  • Bushwacker is aware of John Saint's survival.
  • Bushwacker can lose his sunglasses if you shoot them off, also there is mention if you interrogate a Gnucci goon, saying that Bushwacker is sensitive to bright flashes or flashbang grenades due to eye surgery.
