Butch is the main protagonist of the 2010 Canadian psychological thriller movie Dog Pound. He is a violent offender who is transferred to the Enola Vale Youth Correctional Centre after assaulting a correctional officer. At Enola Vale, Butch experiences extreme cases of violence from other inmates, probing him to do defend himself and wreck havoc.
He was portrayed by Adam Butcher.
Personality[]
Butch is a friendly and humorous person when the moment calls for it, this being shown while hanging out with Max, Davis and Angel. But once confronted by correctional officers or other inmates with intent of hurting him or psychologically abusing him. Butch loses it, he completely loses control of himself and acts extremely violent to the people around him, he is underestimated by people like Banks. Who thought Butch was someone easy to pick on, unlike Davis, Butch's aggressiveness and sheer brutality is released at the right time. Although he is extremely violent and unpredictable, he shows to care for his friends. Defending Davis from Looney when he was picking on him and him being absolutely enraged by Goodyear after killing Angel. The other prisoners know about Butch's past and go against messing with him, after Banks was beaten. He became the toughest guy in the prison, gaining respect among the other inmates and being feared by some.

Not much is known about the past Butch, all that is revealed about him is that his father was in the circus and died during a circus act. Butch describes that once he leaves prison he would want to go to circus school and follow his father's footsteps and join the circus and be an entertainer. Before the events of the movie, Butch was in a previous prison for an unknown crime, but he transferred to Enola Vale because of an incident that occurred with a correctional officer that acted violently toward him. Butch blinded him and was transferred to Enola Vale.
