Villain Overview

Edwin Eugene "Buzz" Aldrin Jr. is a minor antagonist in Inside Job based on the real life figure of the same name.

He is voiced by Roger Craig Smith.

Biography[]

In the world of Inside Job, the Buzz Aldrin on earth, is actually an actor named Melvin while the real Buzz Aldrin actually stayed on the moon where he built a seemingly utopian moon colony and thanks to the moon's low gravity everyone ages slower. Unlike the real-life Buzz Aldrin, this Buzz Aldrin is a deranged monster who want to make the moon superior to earth. After killing his friend Neil Armstrong he began configuring the moon, so he moves it from orbit in order to "finally leave the earth's shadow".

Reagan Ridley and Brett Hand go on a dangerous mission to the moon to check out a distress call. Reagan goes back to her place to prepare to go to the moon, with her father Rand telling her that he and her mom went to the moon as part of a sex tourism trip. Reagan and Brett make it to the moon and are amazed at the advanced city built there. When Rand who stowed away ravels that 30 years ago Buzz slept with his wife, Reagan begins to wonder if Buzz is he real father.

After being praised for her scientific work and impressed by Buzz's ingenuity and charisma, Reagan was became more convinced they were related. However afraid Buzz revealed his true sinister nature Reagan, Rand and Brett worked together to stop his plan and save the earth from destruction. After bringing the moon back to orbit in time Buzz escaped but at least the moon was now free from his tyrannical rule. Later Rand was confirmed to be Reagan's biological father.
