Byakuya of the Dreams is a major antagonist in the manga/anime series Inuyasha. He is the last of Naraku's incarnations and was the only incarnation loyal to him in the end. He acted as a spy and informant to Naraku.
He was voiced by Mitsuaki Madono in the Japanese version of the anime and Michael Adamthwaite in the English version, who also voices Ginji Matsuzaki in Black Lagoon, Andy Connors and Rick DeGroot in Smallville, Sergeant Night in Mega Man: Fully Charged, Ribbons Almark in Mobile Suit Gundam 00, one of the Giants in The BFG, the Skull of Hazza D'ur and Min-Droid in Master of the Mountain of LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu.
Personality[]
While completely loyal to Naraku, Byakuya was quite affable and polite, and insisted that others do the same. His appearance is very effeminate, and he was also shown to be somewhat sympathetic, expressing pity at Kanna's death.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Spying: Byakuya had the ability to detach his left eye to spy on Naraku's enemies from a distance.
- Flight: Even though he can fly on his origami cranes and in a personal barrier, Byakuya has been seen to fly on his own without any aid.
Weapons[]
- Magic gourd: Byakuya has used it for three different purposes. First:, Produce poisonous snakes, which he used to paralyze Kohaku and defile his shard. Second: Splash water from it to create a moon around his targets to send them to another dimension. Third: Storing a piece of Magatsuhi's flesh for its scent, to trick Sesshōmaru.
- Bladeless Sword: Byakuya possesses a blade-less sword that can absorb demonic energy. It was used to sample the Meidō Zangetsuha. The purpose of this attack is still unknown, as the Meidō opened up behind Kagome some time after Naraku was defeated. Byakuya has stated that he can only do this once.

- In the English version, the Sacred Jewel speaks using Byakuya's voice; only in a somber tone.
