C-Kira is the main antagonist of the Death Note one-shot chapter The C-Kira Story. He is a human who receives the death note three years after the defeat of Light Yagami and uses it to kill the elderly of Japan.
Biography[]
Three years after the death of Light Yagami and as Japan loses its number one spot in life expectancy, elderly people across Japan, many of whom were sick and wanted to die, start dying of heart attacks due to their pre-existing health conditions worsening which leads some to speculate that Kira has returned. These deaths were caused by a human who had gained the death note from the Shinigami Midoura who herself had received an extra death note by bribing the Shinigami King with thirteen apples from the human world. Near insists that the new Kira be referred to as C-Kira, believing his crimes are too pathetic to be comparable to Light's.
Sakura TV holds a debate between Kira supporters and detractors during which a bunch of young people without many hopes and dreams for their lives break through the barriers Sakura TV had set up and ask the new Kira to kill them and C-Kira obliges, killing them all via heart attacks.
The killing of so many people on live TV confirms that Kira has returned. Near, under the veneer of L, makes a public announcement during which he states that the individual conducting the killings currently is a cheap knockoff of Kira and he has no interest in getting involved in the case against him. He then addresses the new Kira and calls him an abominable murderer. After "L's" public rejection, C-Kira spends three days not moving before letting out a squeal and writing his own name in the death note, to Midoura's disappointment. Ryuk later remarks that C-Kira had a weak will.
