Mr. Beetle is a wealthy beetle from the outskirts of the Lowlands who has his eyes on Honey Bee, the daughter of Old Mr. Bumble, wanting to marry her. However, Hoppity, the town's hero, also has his eyes on Honey, which also prompts Mr. Beetle to hatch a plan to eliminate him as a love rival to Honey.
Appearance[]
Mr. Beetle appears as a large, rotund black beetle clad in a vest, tie, coat, and top hat. He is often seen carrying a walking stick, which holds a sword underneath when unsheathed.
Personality[]
When around other civilians of the Lowlands, Mr. Beetle presents himself as a polite, well meaning man.
Biography[]
Mr. Beetle is first introduced at his headquarters, found in a garden fountain, where his henchmen, Swat and Smack, are giving him news about the whereabouts of the civilians of the Lowlands. A fire has occurred on Mrs. Ladybug's property as a result of a man, trespassing on the property the civilians live on, tossing a cigar onto the property.
