Cabaji is a minor antagonist of the first season of the 2023 live-action series One Piece, based on the anime/manga franchise of the same name. He is the right-hand of Buggy the Clown, the captain of the Buggy Pirates. He had a brother, which was killed by Zoro in the past.
He is portrayed by Sven Ruygrok.
Biography[]
A few years ago, the bounty hunter Zoro chased Cabaji and his brother through the kingdom of Goa and followed them for weeks. When he caught them, Zoro killed Cabaji's brother, cut off his head and packed it away to collect the bounty for him. Cabaji could never forget this and kept thinking about the pirate hunter Roronoa Zoro.
Years later, Cabaji was in a bar in Shells Town, when Nami, Luffy and Koby were there, but he left when Zoro sat down next to him at the bar. He was in town on his captain's orders to get the map to the Grand Line, but the pirates around Luffy got in his way and got it before him, which is why he had to give his captain the unpleasant news. The Buggy Pirates did not give up, however, captured the three and brought them to Orange. They involuntarily became part of the show, in which Cabaji circled around them while juggling on a unicycle. Buggy was not satisfied with the performance, however, and interrupted it. Cabaji watched Buggy's speech to Luffy and co. with interest, especially when Zoro stepped forward. He was later separated from Luffy along with Nami and locked in a back room of the circus tent. Zoro was tied to a turntable. Cabaji went to him and asked him if he remembered. After all, he was his brother's murderer. Cabaji wanted to make Zoro pay for his sins, so he spun the disc, whereupon he threw knives at him, narrowly missing each time. However, he was not aware that he had also hit one of the ropes that held Zoro in place, loosening it slightly. At the same time, Nami also freed herself from her cage and pushed Cabaji towards Zoro, who was now able to free himself from the rope on his right arm and put Cabaji in a headlock. Cabaji could not free himself and eventually fainted.
Appearance[]
Cabaji is an averagely tall young man with a well-trained body. He has long black hair with green streaks, but only on his left side, while the right side is shaved short. He wears a wide and very long blue and white checked scarf around his neck. A dark fabric vest covers his upper body, leaving his chest area bare. Around his waist he wears a turquoise sash in which he keeps his throwing knives, as well as long white trousers and black boots.
Powers and Abilities[]
Buggy entrusted him with the mission of stealing the map to the Grand Line from the marine base, which was under Captain Morgan's command, and Cabaji himself was sure that he could complete the mission if Luffy, Nami and Zoro hadn't gotten in his way. However, we never saw him really fight. Physically, he had no chance against Zoro once he was untied. Cabaji couldn't free himself from the headlock and fainted. But he can juggle and ride a unicycle.
