The Cadeirudo (roughly translates as "Big-Hipped") is one of the main antagonists in the Brazilian telenovela A Indomada (The Indomitable).
Story[]
The Cadeirudo was a bogeyman figure which terrorized the small town of Greenville, whose true identity is a mistery that is kept until the story's final episode. It appeared as a person of medium stature wearing a black tuxedo and hat, whose most defining trait was its unusual large hips, which gave him its nickname.
The Cadeirudo always attacked during nights of full moon, pursuing women with a funny "legs apart" walk and leaving them unconscious, though the details of its attacks are not really shown. Upon waking up the next day, its victims would report having being attack by the Cadeirudo.
In the show's final episode, the women of Greenville prepare an ambush to capture the Cadeirudo, who ends cornered during its attack and captured by the angry women, who then take it to the police. Its true identity was that of Lurdes Maria (portrayed by Sônia de Paula), one of the town's religious bigots who constantly pestered the town's courtesans.
She took on the Cadeirudo persona to scare the women who walked alone at night, though she never really meant to harm them.
