Caldina is an antagonist and supporting character in Magic Knight Rayearth.
In the original Japanese, Caldina was voiced by Yuko Nagashima. In the English dub, she was voiced by Lenore Zann.
Biography[]
Originally a dancer from Chizeta, Caldina came to Cephiro and was recruited by Zagato sometime before the story's events. After Alcyone and Ascot's failures to kill the Legendary Magic Knights, Caldina volunteers, expecting a big payout from Zagato.
In the animanga, Caldina mind-controls Hikaru and Umi into attacking Fuu. When Fuu refuses to fight them, Caldina manipulates Fuu's body, forcing her to slash at her friends, but Fuu manages to overpower her. Caldina, impressed by how far Fuu is willing to go for people she barely knows, decides to defect from Zagato.
In the anime, Caldina makes other attempts on the Knights' lives before her final confrontation with Fuu. After the Knights' revival of the Rune God Selece, Caldina extorts a village into helping her trap the girls before being ultimately foiled by their ally Ferio. After the Knights' final confrontation with Ascot, Caldina conjures an elaborate illusion only for Umi to cause it to backfire, knocking Caldina out. Ascot then tries to persuade Caldina to give up on harming the Knights, but Caldina casts a paralyzing spell on him. After her confrontation with Fuu, Caldina decides to defect from Zagato along with Ascot.
After the Knights' return to Cephiro, Caldina apologizes to them for her past behavior while also teasing Ascot about his crush on Umi. She is also implied to be in a relationship with the swordsman Lafarga.
