Caliburst is a minor antagonist in Generation One of the Transformers franchise.
He was voiced by the late Johnny Haymer, who also voiced Swindle and Vortex.
Generation One cartoon[]
In the concluding three-part miniseries "The Rebirth", Caliburst was a member of the Hive, the rulers of Nebulos. When Lord Zarak made a deal with a group of Decepticons led by Cyclonus to binary bond with them in order to defeat the Autobots and the Nebulan rebels they had allied with, Caliburst was bonded with Slugslinger becoming his weapon and Targetmaster partner. He boasted that he had never missed a shot, prompting Slugslinger to retort that he'd never taken a shot. Together, the Decepticons and the Hive ambushed the Autobots and stole the Key to the Energy Plasma Chamber, before travelling to Cybertron aboard Scorponok and joining up with the main Decepticon army led by Galvatron. They were eventually sent hurtling to space aboard Scorponok.
Marvel Comics[]
Caliburst's only appearance was in the last issue of the Headmasters miniseries. After the Autobots unveiled their new Targetmaster process during a battle, Caliburst was among a number of Nebulans who Vorath had undergo the same process to bond with a group of Decepticons. Shortly after, the new Decepticon Targetmasters saw action when Zarak and Scorponok led them in a failed attempt to stop the Autobot Headmasters escaping.
