The Camera Thief is a minor antagonist from the 1991 comedy, Mr. Bean Goes to Town. He is a thief who steals Mr. Bean's camera, only to be caught later by Mr. Bean.
Biography[]
One day, Mr. Bean was taking pictures of himself next to some statues. He was unsatisfied with a picture he took himself, so asked the camera thief (of who he thought was an ordinary photographer) to take the picture. The camera thief took a picture before instructing Mr. Bean to turn his back towards him and look towards the statues so he could steal it without Mr. Bean looking. Mr. Bean faced the statues and the camera thief fled.
After 10 seconds, Mr. Bean turned back around to notice the camera thief was gone. He followed the thief's trail to where he was, taking pictures of a path. Angered at the thief taking his camera, Mr. Bean called him out before shoving an empty trash can on the camera thief and regaining the camera via poking him with a pencil, making him yelp in pain.
While Mr. Bean reported the incident to a policewoman, the camera thief made his escape just as Bean and the policewoman arrived.
The camera thief (alongside 4 other men) were bought into the local police station for Mr. Bean to find the thief. The camera thief was forced to wear a trash bin with the number "5" on a paper and was repeatedly poked by Mr. Bean after he recognized the camera thief's voice. The police then arrested the camera thief.
