~ Cameron Tyler rationalizing raping Nicole Price. |
Cameron Tyler is the main antagonist of the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode "Wonderland Story". He is a wealthy app developer who drugs and rapes several women.
He was portrayed by Finn Wittrock, who also portrayed Dandy Mott in American Horror Story: Freak Show, Harvey Morell in Criminal Minds, and the young Tubal-Cain in Noah.
Biography[]
Tyler is an app developer who made millions selling his latest game, Crush. and has since lived a playboy lifestyle, throwing lavish parties and dating supermodels. There is a darker side to his life, however; he takes sadistic pleasure in drugging and raping women, and pays them off to keep them from going to the police. By the time of the episode, he has raped at least eight women, taking as souvenirs their earrings, which he would rip from their ears.
One woman he raped, Celine Dubbois, was given the funds she needed to open her own café by Tyler so she'd never report him. During a party on July 4th, he drugs Nicole Price, his best friend Matthew Forte's fiancée, and rapes her. When she wakes up in his apartment the next morning, naked and unable to remember the night before, he convinces her that she just got drunk. A year later, he drugs and rapes acquaintance Sarah Walsh after inviting her to one of his parties.
Sara, who had been raped two years earlier by another man, calls Special Victims Unit Detective Olivia Benson, who had helped her with her previous assault. Benson's fellow SVU Detectives Fin Tutuola and Amanda Rollins go to one of Tyler's parties and question him, and he lies that he had been in the Hamptons with his latest supermodel girlfriend at the time of Sarah's rape. After talking to one of Tyler's victims, who opened a store with the hush money he gave her after raping her, the detectives are convinced that he is Sarah's rapist.
Tyler goes to visit Sara to make sure she does not know he raped her, but is surprised to find that Benson and her partner, Detective Nick Amaro, questioning her. Benson and Amaro confront Tyler with footage of him carrying an unconscious Sara out of the party; thinking quickly, he says that he lied about where he was because he didn't want his girlfriend to know he had thrown a party without her and hung out with other women. He says that he took Sarah back to her apartment and left.
Soon afterward, he and his girlfriend come home from a weekend getaway, and Nicole, who had been housesitting, asks to talk to him. She tells him that one of the guests at the Fourth of July party raped her while she was passed out, and that she is now pregnant. When she asks him for a list of the men at the party for a DNA test, Tyler says that she seduced him, and offers to pay for her to get an abortion without Matthew ever finding out. Moments later, the SVU detectives, who had told Nicole what he did to her and convinced her to wear a wire tap, charge in and arrest him for several counts of rape, including Sarah's.
Tyler denies raping anyone, but Benson produces videos he had made of the assaults, as well as his victims' earrings and a stockpile of GHB, which she had found while searching his apartment. Realizing that he has finally been caught, Tyler pleads guilty to four counts of rape, for which he is sentenced to ten to fifteen years in prison.
