Canach is the main antagonist of the Southsun Cove/Consortium story arc during "Living World Season 1" in Guild Wars 2. Since then, he has redeemed himself and now serves as an occasional ally to Dragon's Watch.
He is voiced by John DiMaggio.
Biography[]
Canach is a secondborn sylvari. Initially, he was a Consortium mercenary, hired to map and explore the island of Southsun Cove. The local flora piqued his interest and he started studying it, which for some reason provoked the local karka population, who started following the settlers, even being able to enter Lion's Arch where they attacked. Canach had been arrested for this incident, however, he fled at the first opportunity. Now a wanted man, Canach set himself as the champion of the weak, destroying an enslaving facility in the process. Intending to help the refugees that had been tricked by the Consortium on the Southsun, Canach headed back to the island, spreading toxin that greatly aggravated the local wildlife. The following civil unrest attracted the attention of Ellen Kiel, a Lionguard inspector, who tracked the sylvari down and arrested him before he could destroy more evidence of Consortium's wrongdoing. During Scarlet's attack on Lion's Arch, Canach was moved into another cell. Soon after, an unnamed official from the human city of Divinity's Reach offered to pay for his release. Canach's path since then becomes often entwined with the heroes of Destiny's Edge and Dragon's Watch.
Appearance[]
Canach was born during the cycle of Night, with a vibrant green skin and white hair in a ponytail. Curious about his surroundings, he was eventually captured with other sylvari and was cruelly experiment upon by asura, which greatly changed his behavior and appearance. Since then, his skin became more darker, with glowing orange parts and prickly face skin and hair. He is usually wearing a full plate-leafy armor in earth colors, occasionally with a helmet on. His weapons of choice are explosives, shield and a sword that can change into whip mid-combat.
