Canmore is a major villain from the show Gargoyles. He is the son of the ruthless king, Duncan, and third hunter. He is voiced by Roddy McDowall.
History[]
In 1032[]
Canmore was born and is the son of his father, Prince Duncan.
In 1040[]
When Duncan was king, he and Canmore were on a stroll with Macbeth and his son, Luach, they passed by a cave inhabited by Gargoyles, who are currently in stone slumber. Duncan was about to smash them with a boulder, but Macbeth stopped him. For the female, gargoyle, Demona, had saved his life in the night his father was murdered and informed there was once a time where humans and gargoyles were allies. They ran into three witches who prophesied that Macbeth would someday be King of Scotland. Once again, his fear and suspicions aroused. After a war and killing King Duncan for the murder of Macbeth's father, Macbeth was proclaimed the new king of Scotland. Canmore tries to killl Macbeth but Demona and the guards stopped him. Macbeth spared him but banished him to England, believing his relatives will welcome. Without anyone looking, Canmore hid the mask of the Hunter for himself, quietly vowing that he will return and seek revenge.
In 1057[]
Canmore returned and invaded Scotland with an army from England as the new Hunter. Demona, after foolishly believing that Macbeth is going to betray her, betrays Macbeth to Canmore. Without her knowing, Canmore double crossed her by destroying her entire clan.
After escaping their flaming castle, caused by the English, Machbeth and Gruoch were ambushed by Canmore and he revealed his identity. Macbeth realized that Demona betrayed him through false assumptions. Unfortunately, Canmore heard tales that Macbeth and Demona are linked together and that if he kills one of them, the other will die. He stabbed Macbeth which affected Demona, believing the rumor to be true. One of his soldiers reported that Luach has returned with reinforcement, who appear to outnumber Canmore's forces. He ordered his men to retreat for now. Luach became the new king after his father's presumed death. Canmore didn't know it, but Weird Sisters awakened Macbeth and Demona, and told them the terms of their link to each other, revealing that they were now immortal unless and until one slew the other.
Legacy[]
Canmore's fate was unknown, but he is presumed dead after the years passed by.
