Biography[]
In an alternate universe, Beckett Mariner Freeman became captain of the Cerritos. Upon reaching this status, he handled the crew with an iron fist, whipping any she believed stepped out of line or even sending them to the brig. Her actions made her a feared captain on the Cerritos. However, she secretly hated having to lead. She believed she had to be well mannered and mature for the rest of her life.
During one expedition, another Cerritos appeared from a rift hailing alternate counterparts. The Becket of this crew was still a lieutenant. With this, Beckett saw an opportunity to escape her life as a captain. As both crew work on fixing the ships so as to open another portal. Becket bonds with Mariner, but as Mariner watches how Beckett treats her crew, she starts feeling uncomfortable. Once the ships have been fixed up, Beckett has the original crew sent back to their own ship with the exception of Mariner whom she calls to her office. Upon which, she knocks her out with a stun gun and swaps clothes with her, telling her that she would be the new captain while she runs off to the other Cerritos.
As the Cerrito prepares to return to its own dimension, Mariner does what she can to convince the other cerritos crew to stop the Cerritos. It's only when she says please that she reveals she is not their captain, telling them that Becket forcibly swapped places with her. This convinces the crew to help her. Meanwhile, Carol Freeman notices how the otherworld Cerritos is suddenly firing at them. Becket tries to calm down the situation, but makes the mistake of calling Carol "Mother" which Carol knew her daughter would never do, causing the crew to realize they have an imposter and beaming the two Beckett Freemans to their proper ships.
As Mariner is happy to be back on her own ship, Beckett is detained from desertion and sent to the brig.
