~ Animatronic Captain Hook
An animatronic of James Hook, better known as Captain Hook. is a minor antagonist in Epic Mickey and it’s 2024 Remake Rebrushed.
He was once a simple animatronic replica of Captain Hook made by the Mad Doctor, as a captain for the pirates. However, when the Mad Doctor stopped him and Pete Pan from being able to fight, Hook went beserk and turned on his crew, using a machine that turns pirates into mechanical Beetleworx robots, and vice versa if you choose to paint the machine, to turn the crew into Bashers. The rejected design of Smee and a few others escaped to Ventureland.
Like his main counterpart, He is voiced by Corey Burton.
When the Wasteland was first created, the Mad Doctor would start making animatronics of many official Disney characters for multiple locations around the world, Hook being made as a part for the rejected designs of Smee and the rest of Captain Hook's crew in Skull Island, and as a way of keeping him active, a version of Pete dressed as Peter Pan known as "Pete Pan" would engage in a duel with him. However the Mad doctor eventually had him decommissioned from fighting with Pete Pan, the animatronic Hook angered by this decided to take revenge by turning his crew into Beetleworks (most specifically Bashers) via a Beetleworks machine in Skull Island, however a few members of his crew as well as Mr. Smee managed to escape to Ventureland.
Epic Mickey[]
When Mickey first encounters him on his ship after shutting of the Beetleworks machine in Skull Island, he challenges him to a duel against him
Strategy[]
You can either fight him off the plank, deplete his health completely, or platform your way up the rafts and rescue the Sprite, the Wasteland's version of Tinker Bell. This will bring Pete Pan to Mickey's aid and will fight Hook for you, which increases your Paint capacity, and the good ending will show Hook dueling Pete Pan for the spirit.
If you choose to fight him off the plank, Hook will be chased away by a robotic version of Tick-Tock and your Thinner capacity will be increased instead, and the bad ending will involve Hook having been devoured by the Crocodile. As you battle Hook, he can shoot Thinner from his gun. He can also throw several bombs at you. Use the Spin move to counter them. Switch the track line, so that it will lead to the edge of the ship where the Crocodile is waiting for him. Use the Thinner to Thin out his barrel armor and push him with your Spin move. He will pushed down to the end of the track where he will be damaged. As you damaged him, his attacks become more quicker and powerful than before. He can also warp from one barrel to another. As you spray him with Paint, he will try to defend himself from the Paint, making unable to attack for a moment.
You can defeat Hook without the help of the Crocodile or Pete Pan by hitting him into the walls and beams of the ship. After doing so enough times, he will malfunction and his body will fall apart, leaving him as nothing more than a mechanical head, also increasing your Thinner capacity. Either way of doing the Thinner battle will earn Mickey the Captain Hook pin, but doing the Paint version of the battle will instead earn him the Hook vs. Pete Pan pin from Pete in Mean Street.
Good Ending[]
Pete Pan fights Animatronic Captain Hook and the latter slashes the former, then laughs heartily of having his adversary putting up in good spirits fighting him (for saving his Sprite and not killing Hook/smashing him to bits).
Bad Ending[]
Captain Hook is devoured by Tick-Tock the Crocodile. His hook sinks (for bashing/destroying Hook into the pillars and walls or fighting in at the plank).
Epic Mickey 2: The Power Of Two[]
Upon Mickey's return to the Wasteland, Hook is absent and is mentioned to have gone missing, it's currently unknown what happened to him.

Trivia[]
It's currently unknown why he's absent in Epic Mickey's sequel, leading some to speculate that the Thinner path in his boss battle was canonically used. Though it is worth noting that he was planned to return before being cut, leaving his fate ambiguous.
Though some of the Epic Mickey fans may consider the paint path to be canon instead, and that the reason Hook is gone despite the paint path being potentially canon is because Hook may have fallen victim to the Quake.
Animatronic Captain Hook was canonically fed to the Crocodile, according to the novelization. He does appear in levels of Epic Mickey 2 that were cut for time, and the argument could be made that, since those levels were meant to be playable, Hook canonically survives (in either the Paint Path, or the secret third path where Hook is smashed but his head remains active on the deck). However, since those levels did not make the final cut, the Epic Mickey novel stands as the only canon evidence and therefore proves Hook's defeat.
On the Jolly Roger,an pair of skeletons can be spotted which implied Hook didn’t turn all of his crew into Beetleworx robots and killed some of his crew.
When Mickey returns to Tortooga Jail, Cutpurse Tycho and Scallywag Gabe are missing and are replaced by Bashers and Blotlings and Gus revealed their dark fate which Implied they were killed by Hook.
