History[]

Captain Matt McKenna is a NYPD police captain who runs the precinct 8-5. After some of his men are killed by two men when they tried to stop a supposed robbery in a restaurant called Mosto, he meets the protagonist Detective Andre Davis in the crime scene, who he gives the names of the fallen officers. McKenna is clearly upset and distraugth of the loss of his men. Because of that, he asks Davis to find them and kill them if possible because he does not want the family of the victims involved in multiple trials. He shows the drugs found in the scene and assigns him the Detective Frankie Burns from DETF for the investigation.

After that, he gets angry with two FBI agents who wants the investigation to go into the FBI' hands. However, Detective Davis intervenes and suggests to close the island to allow the NYPD to catch them. McKenna strongly agrees with him. The FBI agrees to close Manhattan from 1:00 AM until 5:00 AM.

However, Davis gradually discovers that a plot is behind this case, involving in particular the corruption of the police under McKenna' commands, the evidence of which is in a USB key held by the fugitives.

Having recuperated it from Michael and seen it, one of the two fugitives, Davis goes to McKenna's home. He reveals that he know everything about the corruption McKenna was responsible for. The guy who owned Mosto was his partner and he uses the building to stock cocaine. All the guys in the 8-5 picked up some of the drugs, moved it in the city and sold it. McKenna admits it but he says that he did not do this for material things but rather to improve the lives of his men after some of them endured some tragic events. Davis tells him how his own father died killed by a junkie and because of that, he will not allow drug cause some deaths in the streets. McKenna warns him that if he reports him and his men to the authorities, his life will be threatened but he offers a chance to ignore the affair. Davis refuses the offer and corrupts cops immediately surrounds the house and try to kill the hero. McKenna retreats and tries to shoot Davis from a corner but he gets wounded by a shot from Davis. He goes into his salon to recuperate. After having killed all the cops, Davis, staying in the kitchen, offers to spare McKenna's life if he surrenders. The corrupt cop feigns to think about it and shoots through the wall, only to get even more incapacitated by Davis shooting back. As he tries to get up again, Davis enters in the salon and orders him to not do it McKenna looks at him, pretends to accept but raises his gun in a desperate attempt to trick the honest cop. Davis shoots him in self-defense, killing him and ending his corruption for good.
