Captain Ornithicera is the secondary antagonist in the dark fantasy animated series, Sauria, created by DeadSound.
He is a Captain in the Bluesong Empire who at first went to Sauria in a scientific expedition before being attacked by the native creatures. This caused the Captain to be battlehardened and become an indifferent military leader before being possessed by the Fell. He is the archnemesis of Torux
Just like all characters in the series, he is voiced by David James Armsby.
Biography[]
Ornithicera was part of the Bluesong Empire before their expansion into the wild lands of Sauria. He was led of the first scientific expeditions out of their island into the mainland. But on the journey, the ship was attacked by Mosasaurs causing them to be shipwrecked, when the group woke up on shore, Ornithicera found himself having to fight a pack of Baryonyxes, the event led to him being seriously injured as he lost one of his antlers and had a blind eye. He kept the wounds as a reminder of the cruelty of Sauria and the fight he must complete.
During the events of "Rise of the Decayed," Ornithicera and his soldiers were ambushed and imprisoned by members of the Fell, the twisted and malformed sorcery-practitioners who are the remains of the "Forefathers" civilization. During his time imprisoned in a cage with two fellow soldiers, the Fell Priest of the coven sacrificed a corrupted Parasaurolophus (it is left unknown if this was Ornithicera's former personal mount or not) by sliting its throat, cursing Ornithicera with the "Fell Sealing Curse" mark, appearing as a sickly-yellow eye-shaped marking on his left hand. According to the creator, David James Armsby, this curse "corrupts the mind and bends the vicitim to the will of the Fell." ORnithicera's curse mark linked him to knowledge of the "Great Elder Ones," the cosmic eldritch gods worshipped by the Fell, which he expresses to his fellow soldiers has totally broken his mind, evidently driving him to insanity, before the magic of the curse causes him to collapse in a apparently-lifeless state. Following the sacrifice of the two soldiers at the hands of the Fell coven's master, the "Transcended One," Ornithicera is seen rising from the ground in an apparently zombified state. It remains unknown if he is alive or now undead, or if he is following the Fell willingly in spite of the curse or if the curse is forcing his compliance.

- His name is most likely a play on the Ornithischia, a clade of herbivore dinosaurs that had bird-like skeletal structures, or "bird-hipped" dinosaurs
