History[]
Duloc's Captain Guard is first seen in a forest rewarding villagers for turning in fairytale creatures, who are to be exiled from Duloc on the orders of Lord Farquaad. He pays Geppetto five shillings for Pinocchio. He offers ten shillings to the old woman next in line if she can prove that her donkey can talk. Donkey feigns muteness, and as a result the Captain has two guards take the woman away. But soon, he learns that Donkey indeed can talk and orders the guards to seize him. The Captain and the Duloc Guard pursue Donkey, running into Shrek on the way. The Captain attempts to arrest them both, but the other guards fled, intimidated by the ogre's presence. After Shrek points this out, the Captain flees as well.
Later, in the Duloc Castle, the Captain brings the Magic Mirror to Lord Farquaad. The Magic Mirror presents three princesses for Farquaad to choose to marry. The Captain suggests number two (Snow White). Farquaad chooses Princess Fiona instead, and then orders the Captain to gather his "finest men" for a tournament to determine who will be sent to rescue Fiona. The Captain is not seen again.
