Mask of Darkness Carantula is a major antagonist of Mashin Sentai Kiramager. He is a general from Dark Empire Yodonheim who greatly despises beauty and is the one responsible for creating the Jamenshi with the Jamen masks. He was the primary antagonist for the start of the series and was the Kiramagers's archenemy before the arrival of his master Emperor Yodon. In the finale of the season, Carantula eventually redeemed himself and helped Kiramagers defeat his former master Yodon. Carantula eventually became the new ruler of Yodonheim, replacing Yodon and making a peace with Kiramagers l.
He was voiced by Yasuhiro Takato, who also voiced Sorcery Priest Meemy, and portrayed by Naoko Kamio while in-suit. Not to mention he also voiced these monsters of the week and they are JJ Jetton, SS Sutatanzo, a Copy Org, Quotaian Dagonel, Tsuneki, a Straw Banki, Fandaho of Nonsense, Daiyarl, Mushikagoloid, Debo Vaacance, Jashinger and Demeran Yatmis.
Personality[]
Carantula is shown to hate beautiful things, as he thought of them as annoying, as it was said in the trailer. He is very eccentric and views himself as an artist, making masks based off things and objects from Earth. He is also seen being sickened by the sight of many beautiful things on Earth, as he almost wanted to puke when he sees in the Yodonheim's globe that Earth has so many beautiful things. He also enjoys the entertainment the Kiramagers provide, but finds Galza more than intimidating, especially since he effortlessly defeated Paleolith Basra. Carantula employs tactics based on many human lifestyles and activities. He often gets too caught up in making motifs for his Jamenshi and sometimes makes them more complicated than they need to be, such as when he added a bowling requirement to Bomb Jamen. Despite his purported distaste for Earth's custom, he also enjoys many of them and secretly likes the Earth a lot for the inspiration it gives for his Jamen Masks. And although he despises the planet's natural beauty, he made a new favorite food out of humanity's marshmallow snacks.He is also prone to childish freak outs when things don't go his way, such as when he accidentally dropped his last marshmallow on the floor.
After losing one fifth of himself, Carantula's personality gradually takes a turn. He has started appreciating the diverse richness of Earth, which allowed him to create various unique and innovative Jamenshi. Carantula gets to embrace his identity as an prideful artist over the role of an invasion commander, especially after witnessing the innocence and joyfulness of Juru as a fellow artist, to the point of committing treason against the empire.
With influence from Juru, he eventually reforms fully and has become a benevolent ruler of the reformed Yodonheim.
Powers and Abilities[]
Carantula is quite powerful, being the initial leader of Yodonheim and possesses multiple superpowers and abilities. He is truly one of the most powerful enemies the Kiramagers ever faced and is one of the most powerful servants of Yodon.

- Skilled Combatant: Carantula is a capable combatant, while arguably not the best, being able to hold his own in many fights with Kiramagers.
- Jamenshi Creation: By giving a Bechat a Jamen, Carantula can turn them into a Jamenshi.
- Jamen Beast Creation: By giving a Dark Beast a Jamen, Carantula can turn them into a Jamen Beast.
- Dark Energy Insurance: If a Jamenshi fails to gather enough dark energy, Carantula can use energy from a Bechat mask.
- Sight: Carantula is able to see despite his mask-like helmet covering his eyes.
- Daruma Changing: Carantula can fire color-varied energy blasts from his fingers that turn anyone hit by them into a daruma.
- Invisible Barrier: Carantula can create an invisible light blue barrier to prevent anyone from entering or leaving.
- Absolute Darkness: Carantula can cover his barrier with impenetrable darkness to shield himself.
- Telekinesis: Carantula was able to move his scepter to deflect the Kiramai Bullets.
- Ground Portal: Carantula can open a dark portal in the ground to teleport himself from one place to another.
- Communication Hologram: Carantula was able to communicate with Galza, who was on Earth at the time, via a hologram projected all the way from Yodonheim.
- Mind Control Rapping: Carantula is able to brainwash the victims by singing a rap song.
- Extraordinary Leaper: Carantula can leap at an incredible distance.

- Yodometer (ヨドメーター Yodomētā): Carantula wields a scepter which serves as a gauge to indicate how much dark energy has been gathered. Once full, he can open up the invasion gate for the Jamen Beasts.
- Force Field: Carantula was able to create a red force field with the Yodometer as shown in episode ZERO.
- Communication: Carantula was able talk to Yodonna directly via the back of the Yodometer.
- Monster Enlarging: Carantula was able to enlarge Remudon by infusing him with dark energy gathered from the Yodometer.
- Scepter Blast: Carantula can shoot a purple energy blast from the Yodometer.
- Electricity Generation: Carantula generated light purple electricity from the Yodometer to break the rope that was tied around him.
- Container: Carantula formerly possessed a container in which he kept all the victims he had turned into darumas.
- Violin: Carantula used a violin to transmit sound-waves through Speaker Jamen.
- Microphone: Carantula used a microphone to supernaturally infect people with unkindness when he insulted them.
- Bomb: Carantula used a large red bomb which was strong enough to weaken Emperor Yodon when he threw it at him.

- Carantula is the first humanoid villain in Super Sentai since Emperor of Darkness Z to appear in a Super Sentai series, as well as the first humanoid villain to appear in the Reiwa Era.
- His scepter is similar in design to Marchioness Morc's Marchioness Mic Rod weapon.
