The Carcasses are supporting antagonists in the 2023 video game Lies of P. They are mutated corpses infected with the Petrification Disease that spread their carnage all around the city of Krat.

They, alongside the Puppets, are the two major common enemy types in the game.

History

They were created when the Alchemists created the Petrification Disease with the help of the Owl Doctor, although he did not know what he was doing at the time.

After the infection spread, more and more people fell victim to the zombie-like creatures, until most of the human citizens of the city of Krat became infected. While not all who were infected by the disease became Carcasses, those who died via the disease transformed into these monsters.

No. 890

Experiment number 890 was one of the Owl Doctor's many experiments as he tried to "solve" the disease he helped create.

Atkinson

A friend of Belle and a member of her militia, Atkinson's dying wish was for P to tell others that he went out fighting puppets instead of being turned into a monster, which he becomes moments later.

The Hermit

A powerful carcass, the Hermit lives inside Hermit's cave, which is full of resources and monsters for P to obtain.

Trivia

• Those infected by the Petrification Disease that die from an outside cause rather than the disease itself seem to not transform into carcasses.
  • Champion Victor is a perfect example of this, as he is stabbed in the heart by Laxasia, and dies as a result of that, rather than passing away due to the disease. Notably, Victor does not return as a carcass.
