Deputy Carlos "Carl" Hartman is a supporting antagonist in the 2013 horror film Texas Chainsaw 3D, the sequel to the original 1974 film The Texas Chain Saw Massacre in the 3D timeline of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise.
He is the son of Burt Hartman, the nephew of Betty Hartman, and the grandson of Hal Hartman.
He was portrayed by Scott Eastwood, who also played Jan in Wrath of Man.
Biography[]
Carl Hartman was first seen approaching Heather Miller outside a store, where he is flirting with her, then Heather tells him that she's staying at the Sawyer-Carson house, and his father Mayor Burt Hartman overhears this.
He was not seen again until Heather is being chased by Leatherface through the carnival.
Deputy Hartman manages to stop Leatherface and make him flee back to the Sawyer-Carson house.
Deputy Hartman takes Heather to the police station for some questioning with Sheriff Hooper, but leaves to search for Leatherface.
After Heather is revealed to be a Sawyer, Deputy Hartman ties her up at the long-abandoned Sawyer slaughterhouse to lure Leatherface, and his father orders him to leave.
