| ~ Blue smugly refusing to snitch. |
Carl Johnson, also known as "Blue", is one of the supporting antagonists of the Chicago P.D. episode "Called in Dead".
He was portrayed by Jeremy Earl.
Background[]
As mentioned by Officer Adam Ruzek, he has a notorious reputation in manslaughter, drug dealing, and assault. At some point, he and two criminal brothers Jesse and Jamal Seeley approached public defender Evan Lormer, showing him there was more to be gain in crime, so he agreed to help them in the drug trade and recruited more criminals into helping them. In the event, they would get caught, Evan used his position to falsify court records and commute their sentence to community service or probation, while staying under the radar as a drug kingpin.
Blue was the street captain, ensuring the product got distributed and dealing with anyone who got too close to the ring. He had the drugs smuggled through a nightclub and to avoid drawing attention to the streets, while bribing the owner to keep quiet about it. When the drugs began killing several addicts, including that of many kids, Intelligence began investigating.
Called in Dead[]
Intelligence finds out about where the product was and would disguise themselves as a crew and took all the product from the night club. Blue was called in by the club owner, Trenton Bostaph. Blue would tell Bostaph to put a reward out for anyone who might know the crew or else he would be in big trouble.
Bostaph told Blue, that bikers stole the drugs, so he gathered some men to get revenge and met the manager at a garage. As they were about to enter, they realize it was a sting set up by CPD Intelligence who quickly surround them. Blue enters a standoff by taking Bostaph hostage, though seeing he was surrounded by armed cops, he releases Bostaph and allows himself to be arrested.
When brought in, he refuses to cooperate not even giving his real name, telling Det. Jay Halstead and Officer Adam Ruzek that he wasn't a corner boy that's going to snitch. He demanded they bring him food, since he was hungry. Seeing they were getting nowhere; they leave him to sit in the cage but Sgt. Hank Voight orders that his arrest not be announced because they might tip off his conspirators though gives permission to wiretap his phone and run him through the system to learn his identity.
He remains in the cage, until he witnesses one of the Gary brothers Jesse Seeley being brought in, following a failed attempt to blackmail Det. Alvin Olinsky. Voight realizes the criminals had someone on the inside looking out for them until having the squad take the cuffed Blue for a ride to holding. Further investigation allows Intelligence to learn Blue's name and his history, the unit noted he and his conspirators should have been locked away until they discover that Evan Lormer actually forged the court documents for the three criminals to get them probation in exchange for a cut. Intelligence tracked Lormer when tries to flee with his hefty loot but are able to corner him and he is promptly arrested.
Johnson is then incarcerated for the drug dealing, conspiracy, and attempted murder.
Personality[]
Carl Johnson is a cold hardened Criminal. This is evident by his criminal record and his actions through the episode. He was both greed and ruthless. Examples of his ruthlessness are his interactions with Trenton Bostaph. Johnson constantly threatens Bostaph and was more than willing to kill him when it seemed like he set him up. Examples of his greed are with the large amount of people who died from the drugs that he was suppling and giving out, Johnson didn't seem to care that those people were dying. Johnson also shows himself to be tough as he tells the officers that he is not going to snitch.
Killed Victims[]
Unknown person - Killed by Carl Johnson in an unclear way.
Unknown amount of people - OD'd from the dope that the Gary Brothers, Carl Johnson and Evan Lormer supplied.
