“ | They're using you Vito, just like Clemente used you, just like I used you, just like that rat f--k Henry used you. | „ |
~ Carlo Falcone about Leo Galante and Frank Vinci. |
“ | Carlo Falcone is a lot of things, but stupid ain't one of 'em. | „ |
~ Leo Galante to Vito Scaletta. |
Carlo Falcone is the main antagonist of the 2010 video game Mafia II and minor character in the spin off DLC Joe's Adventures, and also a tritagonist of its non-canon mobile phone game Mafia II Mobile.
He is the don of one of the three Empire Bay crime families, the others being run by Frank Vinci and Alberto Clemente. Falcone was into the dealing drugs business and sent some of his men to kill off the Clemente family due to Clemente muscling in on Falcone's drug business, and he is also Vito Scaletta's arch-nemesis.
He was voiced by André Sogliuzzo, who also voiced Luca Gurino in the same game.
History[]
Vito Scaletta and Joe Barbaro started working for the Falcone Crime Family after being cheated by Alberto Clemente and his capo Luca Gurino. Vito and Joe became Soldatos once Luca was eliminated. Carlo then sent the newly recruited Joe and Vito to blow up a room full of Clemente's gangsters as well as Clemente himself. However it turns out that the only reason Falcone wanted Clemente out of the picture was because Carlo was secretly in the dope business and Clemente tried to muscle his way into the business (Frank Vinci is totally against this business). Vito vouches for one of Clemente's former Soldatos Henry Tomasino, who wanted to defect to the Falcone family after his former boss was assassinated, however after discovering that Henry was actually working for the feds Carlo wanted Vito dead for bringing Henry to his family, even attempting to turn Vito's best friend Joe against him, however Joe and Vito were able to stick with their friendship and kill Carlo.

Trivia[]
- Carlo's shadier and untrustworthy nature is foreshadowed a couple of times in the campaign, as well as the DLC Joe's Adventures:
- In Joe's Adventures, set in 1950, traitorous Falcone underboss Rocco attempts to warn Joe Barbaro about Falcone, only to be killed before elaborating further.
- In Chapter 9 "Balls and Beans", Luca Gurino is amused that Vito now works for Falcone and informs him that he was better in jail than knowing what is really going on.
- In Chapter 11 "A Friend of Ours", Leo Galante confirms to Vito that Falcone is involved in the drug trade, and only wanting rid of him out of fear that the Vinci family will make a move on him. Falcone never told Vito the truth prior to this revelation.
- According to developers, Carlo would have set Henry Tomasino up as a rat in order to be killed by the triads, although this was cut out due to a lot of content being removed from the base game. In the main game it is assumed Henry was truly an informant for the feds.
- Falcone is similar to Ennio Salieri's incarnation from Mafia: Definitive Edition. Both are seemingly affable mob bosses that welcome the protagonists into the crime family, only to be involved in the unethical drug trade without letting the said protagonists know. Vito and Joe doing side work behind Falcone's back is similar to Tommy Angelo and Paulie doing their own side hustle in retribution against Saleri's deceit. Ironically, the Falcone crime family would later do a favour for the Saleri crime family in 1951.
