Carly later attends the premiere of "Atlas Rising" a movie about Jack Atlas, it's hear that Carly meets supermodel Misty Tredwell, who tells her a fortune that she will end up on a disastrous and dark path, but by walking said path, she will know herself better than she ever has, Carly then finds out which hospital Jack is at as she puts on a nurse costume and sneeks inside to try to interview Jack, only to find him attempting to sneek out of the hospital, but before the two can do anything else they are attacked by Officer Trudge who, like Grady, is being controlled by Roman. Carly has to help Jack put on his duel disk and hold his cards due to Jack's arm being broken, but the two are able to defeat Trudge and free him from Roman's grasp. After the two escape the hospital Jack stays with Carly at her apartment, however soon Trudge and Mina, Jack's assistant, attempt to Jack back but Jack states he'll be staying at Carly's place for a few days, making Carly Ecstatic. Over the coming days Carly helps restore Jack's confidence. After this Jack and Carly are taken to Satelite by Mina as they come across Yusei dueling Kalin Kessler and witnesses the duel end in a stalemate. Carly then began digging around for more information on Akiza and the Arcadia Movement, which brings her back to Misty who tells her that her brother was roped into the movement and went missing (although she withholds the information that her brother was later found dead). Carly sneeks inside the Movement's headquarters and begins poking around in Sayer's office, finding out he has information on Rex Goodwin but before she can exit with this information, she is discovered by Sayer, who challenges her to a duel. Carly gets absolutely destroyed in one turn by Sayer who's psychic attacks are so powerful that Carly is thrown out of his office window to her death. However Carly is ressurrected by the Netherworld King, turning her into a Dark Signer as she enters Sayers office before challenging him to a rematch. Akiza attempts to get to Sayer's office but is stopped by Misty, who is also revealed to be a Dark Signer. The two summon their Earthbound Immortals and decimate the Arcadia Movement building, and Sayer is presumed dead, Jack goes into the building to save Akiza but discovers Carly's shattered glasses and attempts to find her as well but is only able to find Akiza before the building begins to collapse, fearing the worst for the person who helped him at a low point in his life. Carly wakes up on a nearby building and begins to freak out because of the visual changes to herself before Misty appears and explains what happened to her, about her dying and being ressurected by the forces of the Netherworld due to her unfinished buisness in the mortal world, saying the same happened to her. Carly, overwhelmed and in disbelief that she died, breaks down crying as Misty comforts her. She is later brought to Satellite by Devack alongside Misty and Greiger. Later Carly alongside the other Dark Signers appear after Roman forces Yusei to defeat Rally Dawson instead of him. As Roman and Kalin Kessler take turns taunting Yusei as the Dark Signers pick their targets, Jack notices Carly but doesn’t recognize her due to her wearing a hood. Later as Carly is heading to her tower, Jack approaches her and asks her why she looks familiar to him. In response, Carly attempts to run but as Jack runs after her, he pulls off her hood and Immediately recognizes her hair, Jack, in disbelief, asks if it’s really her as Carly turns around and confirms his suspicions as Jack asks how this is an that she can’t really be a Dark Signer. In response, Carly tells Jack to meet her at her tower. After most of the other Dark Signers have been defeated, only Carly and Misty remain as Jack arrives at her tower. Carly speeds towards him on her own duel runner as the two become locked in a duel. Carly is merciless during the duel even showing Jack a vision of the future where he loses the duel and is turning into a Dark Signer and they defeated the remaining signers, transforming the world into an inferno of chaos that they rule over. After seeing Carly’s shattered glasses on the ground, Jack snaps out of the trance and continues the duel. During which he manages to make Carly see the error of her ways as she tries to throw the match for Jack, however, Carly’s Earthbound Immortal, under the command of the Netherworld King, takes control of Carly and forces the duel to continue. Even with the power of the Immortal, Jack, with the help of Carly is able to end the duel. Afterwards he returns Carly’s glasses and embraces her as she fades away. Later, after the defeat of Rex Goodwin, all of the Dark Signers, with the exception of Rex and Roman, are resurrected, including Carly.

Deck[]

As a Dark Signer, Carly plays a "Fortune Lady" deck, featuring evolved, mature versions of her regular "Fortune Fairies". When Turbo Dueling against Jack, she runs a Burn strategy through the effects of cards such as "Fortune Lady Earth" and "Speed Spell - Curse of Destiny", while also swarming the field in preperation for summoning her stronger monsters via cards such as "Fortune Lady Light" and "Inherited Fortune". Her signature card is her "Earthbound Immortal Aslla Piscu".

Trivia[]

  • Had Carly not investigating the Arcadia Movement, the Dark Signers would have been understaffed; allowing the Signers the advantage.
  • Carly was meant to continue having a romantic relationship with Jack in Season 2. However, her Japanese voice actress got involved with a scandal; so the writers phased out Carly due to connection.
