Carmeara (カルミラ Karumira) is the main antagonist of Ultraman Trigger: New Generation Tiga, an overarching antagonist in Ultraman Trigger: Episode Z , and a minor character in Ultraman Decker. She is the leader of the Alternate Dark Giants. She was based on Camearra from Ultraman Tiga: The Final Odyssey.
Personality[]
Carmeara most of the time acts like a refined, elegant lady as she commands her followers and kaiju to lead the efforts to obtain the Eternity Core and rule the Universe and beyond with it. To her minions she acts as the voice of reason for the most part and keeps them in line to achieve their goals. However, it's all a mask to her true maniac personality which often comes out when dealing with her ex-lover, Ultraman Trigger. In the past she was much more collected when the two were happy in a relationship as Trigger (then known as Trigger Dark) was her equal and was willing to let him be the first of the Dark Giants to obtain the power of the Eternity Core. When Trigger turn good thanks to Kengo and Yuzare she began her downwards spiral into madness as she felt rejected and insulted. In the present day these issues translated to her becoming a yandere obsessed with Trigger, his reincarnation Kengo and Yuzare, whom he felt jealous towards due to her role in turning Trigger to the light.
However, even deeper than her insanity lies her vulnerability as when she lashes out at Trigger she lets it slip her grief at their relationship ending and how much she misses the old days when Trigger was by her side at all turns. Even Kengo feels sympathy towards her loss, this sympathy causes conflicts within Carmeara that unfortunately only serves to sink her further and further into madness. This all came to a head in her final plan, where she mutated herself into Demonthor in a bid to not only conquer the Universe but finally either kill Trigger or forcefully turn him back to her side for good no matter the cost. When defeated and killed, she spent her last moments tearfully asking Trigger why he rejected and left her, before appreciating the light once she felt its warmth.
Upon her revival in Decker she has abandoned most of her psychosis and instability and wants to be freed from the revived Demonthor, even trying. Once Trigger, Decker, Yuzare and GUTS-Select save her, she shows immense gratitude towards them and joins the heroes in vanquishing her former identity. When the day was saved Carmeara showed her full growth in character when she offered to accompany Kengo to find a place where she can belong, resurrect the other Dark Giants and help the humans of Mars however she could; she also showed no more enmity towards Yuna/Yuzare indicating she had finally gotten over her obsessive and jealous tendencies.
Biography[]
Thirty million years ago, the Giants of Darkness were formed by the four Dark Ultras: Carmeara herself, Darrgon, Hudram and Carmeara's lover and true leader of the Giants, Trigger Dark. Together the four sought the Eternity Core, a powerful energy source that would grant them absolute dominion of the universe and attempted to claim it when they detected it on Earth, however a time-displaced Kengo Manaka (Trigger's light reincarnated and protagonist of the series) was able to reach out to Trigger Dark and appeal to his inner light, redeeming and purifying him into a brighter light-aligned Trigger who used the power of the Eternity Core in conjunction with an Alternate Yuzare to seal the other three Dark Giants away after fighting them, with Yuzare dying in the process. Trigger himself was petrified too and landed on Mars, Darrgon landed on the Moon, Hudram was sent to parts unknown and Carmeara was left stranded in the void of space, unable to escape her prison and festering in her love-turned-obsession with Trigger and hatred for her defeat.
Thirty million years later in the modern day, Carmeara was awakened from her petrification by a stray asteroid and desired to continue her plan to get vengeance on Trigger for imprisoning her. She arrived on Mars and summoned Golba to attack the planet. When Kengo was at the lowest level of the ruins and saw the Ultraman Trigger statue, Carmeara appeared and tried to destroy the statue, but Kengo protect it. After transforming into Ultraman Trigger and facing Golba, Carmeara appears to torture him to make him suffer. After being equipped with Circle Arms, Carmeara tried to attack Trigger with Carmeara Whip, but he managed to block it. Trigger tried to fired a Zeperion Beam at Carmeara, but she used Golba as a shield before she teleports away.
Later on Carmeara would begin to scheme in her attempts to find the Eternity Core after learning from Hudram that Yuna Shizuma was Yuzare's host and thus the key to finding the artifact. Among the many kaiju she unleashed were Deathdrago.
After absorbing the darkness of Hudram and Darrgon, she would later absorb the Eternity Core to become Megalothor, the Goddess of Darkness who threatened to destroy all existence and recover her beloved Trigger Dark as he originally was at all costs. She was ultimately defeated by Trigger Truth, Trigger's ultimate form born out of accepting the light and darkness into himself, and after being comforted by Trigger in her final moments disappears into the light, finally accepting the warmth of the light.
Ultraman Decker[]
10 years after her death, the Sphire invaded Earth and the Mars colony, isolating both and covering Earth in a dome they created. Eventually Carmeara's leftover dark essence merged with the Spheres' power and using both evil energies created a second Megalothor, now empowered by the Spheres. Sphere-Megalothor attacked Decker and overwhelmed him but Ultraman Trigger came in to stop the reborn Dark God and force it to retreat. Later on, the two Ultramen and Megalothor have a rematch where a wound exposes Carmeara's face to Trigger's shock, the Dark God takes the chance to escape afterwards.
Sphere-Megalothor reappears later on, trying to prevent GUTS Select from destroying Gijeran but Carmeara within wants to be freed of the God of Darkness and calls out to Trigger; eventually Trigger, Decker and even Yuzare cooperate to free her. Upon being freed, Carmeara has a tender reunion with Trigger and after exchanging some words opts to help him and his allies vanquish Megalothor for good. After Megalothor is beaten, Carmeara joins Kengo in his return to Mars, wanting to find a place where she can belong and even bringing Darrgon's and Hudram's spirits so they can join them.
Trivia[]
