Carmine is Carmen Sandiego's pet cat.
Carmine made her first appearance in the computer game Carmen Sandiego Junior Detective Edition, where she is the evil counterpart of Stretch the Crime Dog. In the 1996 versions of the computer games Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? and Where in the U.S.A. is Carmen Sandiego?, the player may encounter an animation of Carmine upon arriving at the correct location and more often comes closer than ever to catching a random crook.
Carmine will try to scare the player off the case, but instead gets involved in some kind of slapstick mayhem. Carmine does not appear in any other Carmen Sandiego media.
Carmine is a ginger cat with a pink collar.
The user's manual included with World and U.S.A. explains that, "an unfortunate incident involving an economy-sized sack of kitty litter has left Carmine with the warped mind of a criminal."
