Caroline Cross is a major antagonist in the Syfy series Chucky.
She is portrayed by Carina London Battrick.
Background[]
Caroline Cross is the youngest biological daughter of the late Michelle Cross and the late Nathan Cross and is the younger biological sister of Lexy Cross. She was born and raised in Hackensack, New Jersey with her older biological sister Lexy. She is a gifted little girl but unknown to both her biological parents and her older biological sister Lexy, she has a severe case of sadistic personality disorder and homicidal urges which remained dormant for years of her whole life until Chucky triggered them. From the first moment Caroline saw Chucky, she becomes enamored and obsessed with him and develops a hyper fixation and both a close bond and a special connection towards him. Chucky murdered both of Caroline's biological parents, but she still stays on his side and later becomes his accomplice, sidekick, helper, minion, protégé, apprentice, his current and permeant best friend, and both his and Tiffany’s adopted daughter, as well as Glen’s and Glenda’s adopted sister. Caroline also later becomes the second archenemy and the second arch-nemesis of her older biological sister Lexy Cross, Devon Evans, and Jake Wheeler.
History[]
In the 1st season of Chucky, Caroline attends her sister's middle school's talent show with her family, where she spots Chucky and becomes obsessed with him. A week later on Halloween night, Caroline sits in the living room drawing Chucky, her parents are amazed that she is able to remember every detail of Chucky only after seeing him once. when Caroline is asked if she wants to meet Chucky, Caroline replies that she would be too scared that he wouldn't like her. Lexy if forced by her mother to take Caroline trick-or-treating. Instead, she takes her little sister to a Halloween party and lets her stay downstairs playing videos games. Sometime during the night Chucky joins her in playing the videogame, complimenting her potential and attempting to persuade her to kill Lexy. However, she insists that killing is bad because her mother told her so. Once the party is over the party is over Caroline refuses to go home with her sister as she is waiting her new friend to come back.
A few days later, Caroline's obsession with Chucky becomes so strong that she wants him. Lexy goes to Jake, who agrees to give Chucky to Caroline. They both become inseparable, playing together and watching the news. At night, Lexy tucks Caroline and Chucky into bed before going downstairs to throw a party. When the two of them are alone, Chucky tells her he is going to kill her sister and invites her to come along, but she opts not to as she is too tired.
As a result of the fire caused by the fight between Chucky and Lexy, Caroline ends up in the ICU to treat her smoke inhalation. While Jake is being interrogated by Devon's mother Detective Kim Evans, Chucky unplugs Caroline's oxygen causing everyone to run into her room and discover Detective Sean Peyton's dead body. The next day, Caroline finally wakes up and tells her father she wants Chucky. After he shows her the disfigured doll, she screams in fear so much that her father Nathan gets rid of Chucky by throwing him down the needle disposal chute. While she is playing on her iPad, Lexy approaches and asks her if she can see the doll for a bit, Furious, Caroline shouts that she now hates Chucky as he is "bad".
After Caroline is discharged from the hospital, she and her family return to their home which is partially burdened, and Caroline's new room is her mother's office. Caroline is upset that she has to sleep on the couch and demands her old bed. In order to distract her and calm her down, her father Nathan surprises her with a new Good Guy doll named Tommy. This makes Caroline so promptly happy and proceeds to hug the doll tightly. Lexy asks Caroline if she can hug Tommy and immediately tries to destroy the doll. Realizing that the doll isn't Chucky, she takes a photo of the doll and runs out of the house. Sometime that night while Caroline is sleeping with Tommy, the disfigured Chucky enters the house and switches bodies with the other Good Guy doll. The following morning at the town meeting, Caroline tells her father Nathan that Tommy ran away. When he tries to assure her that her doll will be waiting for her at home, Caroline loudly shouts that he won't. Later in their home, Caroline spots Lexy packing her toys into a box. She tries to take one of the dolls from Lexy's hands, but the resulting-tug-of-war causes the doll's head to pop off. Caroline immediately starts laughing, and the two of them begin pulling the heads off the rest of the dolls. Caroline and Lexy then attend a press conference with their mother Michelle as she announces the arrest of the supposed killer suspected in many recent deaths. When one of the reporters ask Caroline if she wants to be a mayor like her mother one day, she bluntly states that "Chucky told her to kill mommy". Lexy pulls her aside and ask what Chucky told her exactly. She remarks that Chucky told her to kill them all: Michelle, Nathan and Lexy.
The next day, Tiffany poses as celebrity guest Jennifer Tilly at a special movie screening benefitting all children's hospitals, held by Michelle. The mayor announces that as a part of the benefit, 72 children's hospitals will receive a vintage Good Guy doll. Caroline wants the Chucky doll Tiffany is holding, so she allows her to take it into the movie theater to watch Frankenstein. She places Chucky begins murdering people and everyone else flees the theatre. Eventually, Jake finds her alone next to her father's corpse and has Devon escort her out safely. she is last seen grieving over her father's death and being comfort by her old sister Lexy and her mother Michelle.
In the 2nd season of Chucky, After the events movie and all the other events that happened in the 1st season Caroline became so traumatized, however unknown to her mother, her older sister Lexy, Devon and Jake she was just pretending, and she allied herself with Chucky as they both make plans for revenge against Tiffany her older sister Lexy and her friends Devon and Jake.
On Halloween night, Caroline answers the door to find Chucky dressed as a ghost, He asks to use her bathroom, claiming it's an emergency, and she lets him inside. But Chucky dose not stay long, and leaves before the police arrive.
The next day, Caroline attends a family therapy session with her mother Michelle and her older sister Lexy. She tells Dr Mixter, that Chucky seemed nice at first, but he lied and always had secrets. Chucky also killed a lot of people, including her father. Dr. Mixter tries to convince Caroline that Junior Wheeler was the real culprit behind the murders, but she remains firm that it was Chucky, and now he has returned as she recognized him coming to her door on Halloween. Both Lexy and their mother Michelle insist to her that it was Junior, and their mother Michelle tells her Dr. Mixter that this experience has affected her so very negatively. Caroline can't sleep without waking up screaming from nightmares, and she made her mother get rid of all of her dolls. Believing this topic may be a good starting point for therapy, Dr. Mixter gives Caroline a Wedding Belle doll who really is Chucky in disguise and takes the doll home with her.
That night, Lexy puts Caroline to bed and confirms her that she knows that Chucky was in fact the true culprit for the murders. Lexy tells her to never trust a doll, before tying the Wedding Belle doll down into a chair and handing Caroline a knife for protection. During the night, Lexy checks in on her, only to find the doll removed from the chair and in bed with Caroline. In the following morning, Lexy asks Caroline why she was sleeping with the doll, and she tells her not to worry because Wedding Belle is not like Chucky and is just a regular doll. After Lexy goes back upstairs, Caroline hears the doorbell ring. When she answers the door, she finds Chucky being carried by Jake's foster brother Gary and holding a homemade bomb. he enters the house with the device. He gathers Caroline, Gary, Jake, and Devon all together and plans to activate the bomb when Lexy arrives. However, he is unsuccessful and settles to kill himself and Gary instead. Unkown to Lexy, Devon and Jake Caroline was involved in the bomb attack and while her older sister and her friends are sent to Incarnate Lord for Gary's death both Chucky and Caroline make more plans to kill them.
On Christmas, Caroline's Older sister Lexy returns home with Jake and Devon staying with her family and she continues to keep the Wedding Belle doll who is really Chucky close to her. On the night of Christmas Eve, Tiffany breaks into the Cross's house to take Caroline's Wedding Belle doll who unknown to her is really Chucky in attempt to transfer her soul as a new vessel. However, before Tiffany can leave with the doll she is stopped by Jake, Devon and Lexy, who stab her multiple times Suddenly Caroline finally showing her evil nature comes to Tiffany's side, giving her a knife to hold her hostage with Caroline demands both Jake and Devon put their weapons down and allow her and Tiffany to leave the house. Before they leave, Caroline lies to Lexy to torture her and tells her that Chucky always told her "Real" mother would come for her, and she was adopted by the Crosses. She also says that Chucky told her just to pretend to be afraid of him, and she was able to fool everyone. Caroline asks her older sister Lexy where Chucky is and what she has done with him she tells her that he killed him this makes Caroline mad and tells Lexy, Devon and Jake they will be sorry for what they did to Chucky, and they leave the house.
Three weeks later at a hotel room in Times Square, in New York City, Caroline reads through the Voodoo for Dummies book as Tiffany prepares to transfer her soul into the Wedding Belle doll. But the ritual does not work because the Wedding Belle doll is actually Chucky in disguise. Caroline smiles as he advances towards Tiffany and prepares to stab her.
In the 3rd season of As Chucky prepares to kill Tiffany, he is forced to stop as the police break down door to arrest her. Caroline sneaks out of the hotel with Chucky in her arms but is spotted by Nica. She chases after them, but she is unable to follow them because she’s in a wheelchair. Chucky makes fun of Nica for being in a wheelchair and having no legs, Caroline asks Chucky that they know each other and Chucky says they have history. Nica tells Caroline to give her Chucky but she refuses and asks her what happened to her hands and Nica tells her that whatever doesn’t kill her makes her stronger. Caroline asks Chucky if he is the one who cut of Nica’s limbs he tells her it was Tiffany. Before both Chucky and Caroline leave Nica tells him this isn’t over, not by a long shot, Chucky agrees with her and says we’re just getting started, and he’s sure we’re going to have a lot of fun and then they head down the stairs into the subway. Making their way through the subway, Chucky whistles for a cab. After both Chucky and Caroline get in the cab both of Chucky and Caroline are discussing his upcoming plans for his "kill list", to go after his remaining enemies: Andy, Kyle, Nica, Jake, Devon, and Caroline's older Lexy. Chucky asks Caroline if she anyone she wants to kill she says that she never liked her first-grade teacher Ms. Sherman and Chucky added her name to the list. Chucky compliments Caroline for her potential to become a serial killer, but she corrects him as she has never actually killed anyone before. The cab driver hears all this and becomes disturbed. The cab driver pulls into an alleyway and demands they both get out, Instead Chucky kills him in front of Caroline by shoving an umbrella into his mouth and opens it to explode his throat Chucky asks Caroline if that's seven years' bad luck, Caroline having no problem with Chucky killing the cab driver answers him say she thought that was mirrors and they both hi five.
Both Caroline and Chucky stop at a hotel for the night, where after waking up from a dream of him killing Andy he makes an alarming discovery that he is losing his hair and getting wrinkles under his eyes. While Caroline is still sleeping Chucky takes the Voodoo for Dummies from her arms, he reads what to do with signs of aging. As step one is vacate the vessel", he attempts to transfer his soul into Caroline, but it doesn't work. Caroline wakes up and having no problem with Chucky trying to transfer his soul into her body. Having completely read the book, informs him that if his vessel is aging, he must see a voodoo doctor.
Both Chucky and Caroline go a voodoo clinic and both are sitting in the waiting room until a nurse calls Chucky’s name to the doctor’s office. In the doctor's office, Chucky is physically examined by Dr. Rosen. When he asked if he has been practicing any other religions, Chucky admits he had been involved in an exorcism last year. Dr Rosen tell him he has been infected with Christian magic, meaning Damballa has abandoned him, he is dying, and he can no longer possess other vessels. The only cure is a ritual that hasn't been attempted since the Crusades, which involves six people being sacrificed inside of an evil house.
Both Chucky and Caroline head to Amityville, New York to the Amityville Horror House, where a party is happing inside. The two are let inside the house when Caroline pretends to be lost and Chucky murders all the eight people inside the house, but the ritual is unsuccessful, concluding that the house wasn't evil enough. Chucky then realizes the White House is evil enough, and he can easily get in by manipulating the President's son Henry. As Caroline prepares Chucky by using makeup to cover up his wrinkles, she is sad that she can't come to the White House with him, she tells him she did all this homework to help him find a way in. but Chucky tells Caroline he has to this alone and that they can't let her older sister Lexy and her friends know where she is. Caroline tells Chucky she's going to miss him, but Chucky assures Caroline that it's just till he kills six people, and It'll fly by and when he's cured, they will go kill her first-grade teacher Ms. Sherman and she says she can hardly wait. Before Chucky goes to the White House, he explains that the reason he killed her father is because he was jealous of him for having a great kid in Caroline this shows that Chucky feels a sense of paternal love for Caroline and the two share a hug, after that Caroline tells Chucky looks great but he'll need to reapply every 12 hours. Caroline asked Chucky if he's scared and he answers no, he makes people scared, Caroline assures Chucky don't worry this is going to work and you're going to be okay and tells just go in there and do what you do, go make Damballa proud and knock 'em dead and Chucky tells Caroline that he will send her pics and he leaves for the White House.
While Chucky is away at the White House, Caroline gets busy introducing herself to the creator of the Good Guy dolls, Wendell Wilkins She is able to convince him into helping her with her contingency plan to resurrect Chucky in case their original plan didn't work. She stays with him in his estate for a few weeks and they spend great time together. Chucky kills a lot of people in the White House, but it doesn’t work, and Chucky is still dying. Off scene Chucky calls Caroline and tells her that their plan has failed but Caroline refuses to give up and she still continues with their back up plan. Keeping herself hidden until the arrival of her older sister Lexy, Devon and Jake who is really possessed by Chucky-Prime. Caroline tells her older sister Lexy who is surprised by what she's doing, and her actions tells her that she found her purpose with Chucky and that she's his real friend to "till the end". Her older Lexy tries to convince her that she doesn't listen to Chucky anymore or Wilkins and tells her she's here now and she apologies for taking her so long to find her, but Caroline tells her older sister this who she is now, and she likes it and then tell her if she doesn't accept it, then she can kill her, shock at what Caroline said to her, Lexy tells to her no. Demanding to bring back Jake, Caroline then uses the Voodoo for Dummies and transfers Chucky's soul from Jake's body to the Good Guy doll. Afterwards Lexy, Devon and Jake are still shocked and finally see Caroline for who she really is, Lexy asked her younger sister what's she Chucky and Wilkins going to do to them and then ask if she, Chucky, and Wilkins are kill her own older sister and her friends, Caroline answers Lexy's question and says that they were going to kill them, but Grandfather Wendell had a better idea. Wilkins then says that I'm getting on and that he can't live alone here forever and what this house needs and what's it's been sorely lacking for years is life, laughter, and children then Wilkins pulls a rope that opens two curtains that shows them something and to Jake's Devon's and Lexy's horror they see and stare at what's be hide the curtains in shock.
Sometime later, Tiffany arrives at Wilkins's estate. Once inside Chucky showed her what he, Caroline, and Wilkins did to their previous victims, Jake, Devon, and Caroline's older sister Lexy and she is delighted. Tiffany says they are adorable and if they could keep them, Wilkins says no, and they his children and they will be excellent company, Chucky then says at least you know they're not going to breed. Not with those two and then both he and Tiffany laugh. Chucky asked Tiffany if she heard from G.G., she says not for a couple of months and she asks Chucky if he heard from G.G. and sides in sadness explaining how he missed them dearly. Tiffany asks Chucky if he wishes they could be a real family again and he answers her with a surprise, Chucky proposes to Tiffany and says yes, Wilkins provides her with the original Wedding Belle doll as a wedding ring and so that she can transfer her soul, allowing her to end the manhunt for Jennifer Tilly. Caroline transfers Tiffany's soul into the doll, allowing her and Chucky to be together again, both Chucky and Tiffany adopt Caroline as their own child and become one big happy serial killer family then they leave Wilkins's estate in Tiffany's car with Caroline driving. It is latter reveled that Caroline used another sell to transfers her own older sister Lexy's Devon's and Jake's souls into miniature dolls of themselves and are kelp in a display cabinet in Wilkins's living room to keep Wilkins company. As Caroline drives Tiffany's car both Chucky and Tiffany are making out in the backseat which grosses her out. Now that Chucky has been forgiven by Damballa and that Chucky, Tiffany, and Caroline are together again as a family, the three of them set off to kill Caroline's first-grade teacher Miss Sherman, Andy, Kyle, all of Chucky’s and Tiffany’s other remaining enemies, look for G.G. and possibly kill more people.

Caroline is described as introverted, having a few meltdowns that can resemble tantrums, and doesn't like being hugged or touched. Caroline draws Chucky and seems to admire him, even when his actions are violent. It has been speculated that she may be on the autism spectrum due to her social behaviors and her strong connection with Chucky.
She's a child with a hyper-focus on Chucky, developing a strong and seemingly twisted bond with the killer doll. She exhibits traits like hyper-focus, potential autistic characteristics, and an unusual lack of emotional response to Chucky's violent actions, suggesting a possible sadistic or disturbed personality. Despite being the target of Chucky's violence, Caroline becomes his ally and seems to genuinely enjoy and embrace his dark nature.
Caroline is typically well-mannered and dislikes swearing, she is very respectful and genteel to everyone around her, but she's also a budding sociopath who takes an interest in both murder and dark magic.
It is shown that Caroline is spoiled and demanding and throws fits whenever she wants something.
Caroline is also described as a gifted child, demonstrating a keen observational ability and a capacity for understanding complex situations.
Caroline can be very manipulative, for example she developed a phobia for dolls, but it turns out to be act and Chucky told her to pretend to be afraid of him.
From the first moment Caroline saw Chucky, she begins to idolize and worship him and wants to be just like him.
Blood, gore, and corpses don't really disgust her, but Chucky and Tiffany French-Kissing grosses her out.
Despites being loyal to Chucky by far, even she can get annoyed by his antics herself such as when he tried to swap out of his rotting body for hers in her sleep and when both he and Tiffany are French-Kissing. At the Dutch colonial house in Amityville, Chucky verbally berates her for his sacrifices not working and she hastily tries to calm him down.
Caroline harbors no ill will towards Chucky for repeatedly and failing to swap his rotting body for hers in her sleep, only chewing him out for not reading the Voodoo for Dummies' on voodoo magic thoroughly and still comforts him over his decaying state.
Caroline soon develops a close bond and a personal connection with both Chucky and Tiffany.
Caroline displays no sadness over both of her parents' deaths and disowns Lexy as her sister. Instead, she refers to both Chucky and Tiffany as her "true" family. It's further emphasized when both Caroline and Chucky call Wendell Wilkins "Grandfather".
Caroline is also shown to be bold and independent: she's not afraid to stand up for herself of Chucky, often expressing her desires and opinions without hesitation.
Caroline has no hesitation, guilt, remorse, nor regret for what she did to her own older sister and her friends.

- Intelligence: During her time with Chucky, Caroline has developed wits in supporting the serial killer schemes to survive and escape on many occasions as his newfound accomplice despite being a child.
- Knowledge in the Dark Arts (Voodoo Magic): Overtime she was taught the natural laws of dark arts through the book of "Voodoo for Dummies" and knew instructions of why Chucky couldn’t transfer his soul into another body and recommend they go to a metaphysical doctor. Months after when confronted by Jake, Devon, and her sister, she was stated to have become more skillful in the arts of voodoo magic for she knew the ritual to perform in transferring Chucky's soul from Jake’s body and into the good guy doll and transferring her older sister’s and her friends souls into other doll’s body before fleeing with both Chucky and Tiffany.
- Manipulation: Caroline also became a very cunning deceiver especially at helping the serial killer trick enemies as Caroline even uses her little girl behavior to bribe her way into apprehending territories for many advantages to Chucky murders. As well as knowing when Chucky possessed Jake’s body, the group would eventually find her current location at the creator of the Good Guy dolls mansion where she held a knife at them before she can transfer his soul into a new, good guy doll stating that she was Chucky’s real friend to the end, and she found a liking of it.
- Driving Proficiency: Despite being a minor, Caroline knows how to operate a vehicle without a driver's license.

- Caroline is arguably Chucky's fourth female accomplice, right after Tiffany, Dr Mixter, and Nica except she was possessed by Chucky. She is also the youngest accomplice Chucky has ever had, despite being 8 years old.
- Caroline is the fifth character to perform a voodoo ritual by calling on the powers of Damballa, right after Chucky, Tiffany, Glen, and Nica.
- Some fans have even jokingly referred to her as the "Anti-Andy," suggesting she represents the opposite of Andy Barclay, the original child victim of Chucky.
