Admont Laborn, also known as Carsejaw the Cruel, is a major antagonist and optional boss in Salt and Sanctuary.
Biography[]
Carsejaw was the son of Marquis Laborn and the pretender Duke of Tristin. Claiming to have created many enemies throughout his life, he was known as a violent man who killed many, including a group of innocent women who he condemned as witches. People believed him and rallied with him to rid witches and conspirators. However, the lies were exposed and a rebellion occurred. Despite the people's efforts, the rebellion failed and Carsejaw had the knights who he deemed as traitors impaled on metal spikes as grim examples for those who defy him, earning him the nickname "Carsejaw the Cruel". The Duke later died of an unknown fever.
At some point, Carsejaw was revived as an undead and ruled over what remained of Tristin, the Pitchwoods. The player will encounter Carsejaw at the end of the area, attacking by using his Scharfrichter greatsword. He can also teleport around the arena, and summon blades to appear from the ground, telegraphed by black shadows. As Carsejaw loses health, he slightly gets faster and can summon the spikes while attacking. He resists slashing weapons and poison, but is weak to striking weapons, fire, arcane, lightning, and holy attacks. Defeating him makes him drop his ashes and opens a passageway to the Salt Alkymancery.
