Carter Kounen is a supporting antagonist in the 2002 superhero horror film Blade II. He was a familiar of the House of Damaskinos and served as a lawyer for Eli Damaskinos while publicly visible under the European Health Consortium.
He was portrayed by Karel Roden, who also played Emil Slovak in 15 Minutes, Struker in Bulletproof Monk, Yuri Gretkov in The Bourne Supremacy, Mikhail Faustin and The Fixer in Grand Theft Auto IV and Viktor Frankenstein in Frankenstein's Army.
Biography[]
When Nyssa and Asad fought Blade, they bring him and his team to their hideout. Damaskinos and Kounen are present at the first meeting, telling Blade about the Reaper virus has spread through the vampire community and a vampire named Jared Nomak became infected with the virus and feeding on other vampires spreading the outbreak.
After Blade uses UV emitter bomb pack to kill all the Reapers in the Prague sewers, he stun by a squad of private security troops, revealing Damaskinos has betrayed him. Kounen appears and tells Reinhardt he did a good job and brings Blade to Damaskinos.
Kounen is later seen in a room bringing Blade to operate on his body along with his blood, bones, and organs to harvest his immune to daylight. While waiting, he hears Blade saying "Nomak". Kounen asks about him, Blade tells him that Nomak wants revenge on the people who created him. Kounen claim that he maybe right, but said that Nomak doesn't know the location. However, before he could proceed with the process he was interrupted by the sound a general alert, showing Nomak attacking the fortress and killing Damaskinos' soldiers on the camera. He is then shot dead by Blade's ally, Whistler.
